Mr. Leph seemed surprised—taken aback, because she'd been enthusiastic to get the job. Still he didn't question why and instead reached out his hand and patted her hair.
"It's alright. But take care of yourself." He smiled at her. "You are a strong girl."
Alexis immediately stiffened unnaturally. She slowly looked up at him. "What?"
"I've lived for almost two hundred years, I'm not stupid." Mr. Leph chuckled. "I can tell an omega when I see one. You're not a beta, but I can tell something is wrong with you because then it makes sense why you have no scent and pretend to be a beta."
He watched her face pale and laughed in amusement.
"Relax, kiddo, Your condition is none of my concern. I don't know what you're dealing with, but I don't have a problem with it. I'm not going to prod you like a lab rat to figure out because I'm curious. Just take care of yourself and…keep out of trouble, alright?"
