The flaming hound's body still twitched in the air, impaled and dripping its innards like a grotesque sacrifice. The others snarled, the eerie glow of their skeletal mouths intensifying as the seconds went by.
They looked at Adam, then at their fallen comrade, then at one another, and as if agreeing on something, that was when Adam began to feel it.
The temperature in the surroundings suddenly spiked up.
"Aghh... Damn, it's getting really hot here."
Adam said as he began to grit his teeth as he steadied himself. His body screamed in pain, and his skin started to smoke, as the heat continued to rise.

The sound of his body starting to burn slowly could be heard, like a raw piece of unseasoned meat placed on a slow-heating grill.
'It's like they are heating up the air or something.'
Said Adam, but he didn't have time to rest here, given that with each second that passed, even the likes of breathing were starting to become a problem at this very moment.
