For a moment, neither Kiera nor Nyla said a word.
Adam's offer hung in the air between them, and to be honest, it was almost surreal.
He had just casually invited them to come and stay with him...two stray nekowolves into his home.
Now, this would have been good...great even, if it wasn't for the fact that his home is the home base of the Shinso Family, one of the Thirteen Great Monster families.
It sounded too good to be true.
Kiera narrowed her golden eyes, skepticism clear on her face.
"Ummm... not to sound ungrateful, but you make it sound so simple, Adam. Do you really think bringing us into your home would be that easy? Your family isn't exactly known for welcoming outsiders... your family head... Minerva is infamous for beating people half to death that want to join."
Adam, still effortlessly soaring above them, flashed a confident grin as he responded.
"You're overthinking it... Yeah, Minerva can be terrifying at times, but she's not all bad. Kinda."
