Amelia stepped through the front door, thoroughly exhausted. It had been a long day filled with endless meetings, tedious discussions, and hours spent perfecting her designs. She barely had the energy to take off her heels when a small, warm body pressed against her legs.
Looking down, she saw Poppy rubbing against her, his fluffy tail curling around her calf.
"Hey, Poppy," she murmured, bending down to run her fingers through his soft fur. Poppy purred in response, rubbing against her more insistently, as if sensing her fatigue.
She straightened, glancing around. The house was unusually quiet. "Where's Kai?" she asked absentmindedly.
Poppy meowed in response, his golden eyes blinking up at her. Amelia took that as an I don't know and sighed. He's probably still out.
