Hazuki trudged along the dusty road, his throat dry and parched.
"Damn… I need water." He smacked his lips, already imagining the cool, refreshing taste of a stream.
His eyes scanned the surroundings, hoping to spot a river, a pond—hell, even a puddle would do at this point.
Nothing.
Only grass, dirt, and disappointment.
"Ugh… this sucks." He wiped the sweat from his forehead and let out a groan.
Suddenly, his stomach growled.
Loudly.
Hazuki froze.
"…Oh, come on."
As if thirst wasn't enough, hunger was joining the party.
"If only I could find some food…" He muttered, placing a hand over his stomach as if that would somehow silence the protest.
He glanced at the surrounding grass.
"…Nope. Not eating that."
Continuing along the endless road, his exhaustion reached dangerous levels. His throat felt like sandpaper, his stomach was empty, and the sun was mercilessly roasting him alive.
"Damn it…! Too thirsty…"
