Chapter 98 - Into the skies of Kemet

After they had eaten their fill, Sett and the girls wandered through the streets, but something felt off. The town hadn't changed physically—stone-paved roads stretched ahead, lanterns flickered above doorways, and market stalls bustled with trade. Yet, there was a new undercurrent in the air, something restless and unsavory.

Even on familiar streets, the people had changed.

A group of men leaned against a wooden railing, their conversation loud and crass, laughter sharper than before. A merchant, once known for his polite haggling, spat on the ground and cursed at a customer. 

People in general were becoming incredibly loose. 

They no longer had to fear the law, after all.

Even if they raped, pillaged, or did anything they liked—the only thing stopping them were their fellow men and their own conscience. 

Young men leered at women, and as they passed through, Zainah and Zarah attracted an uncomfortable amount of attention.
