Chapter 137 - Chapter 137: 25 Years Later

Time flew by, and 25 years had passed.

On a certain warship in space, Yang Hui was adjusting the latest data for the Dawn Gundam.

The information copied from the Ambarte Fortress, along with the analysis of the VEGAN warships and MS wreckage, had led to extensive modifications of both the Dawn Gundam and Samurai Gundam.

First, the frame and armor materials had undergone significant improvements. Thanks to the data obtained from VEGAN, material technology had made a tremendous breakthrough. Although it wasn't E-Carbon, they developed materials that were even better than E-Carbon based on it. The entire frame and outer armor were modified using the latest superalloys, so there was no longer any concern about the machine falling apart during battle.

Next was the armament. The large thrusters on the back resembled four wings, and combined with the data from VEGAN, they developed a mental connection system and Wing Funnels, with each wing equipped with eight units. Although it looked similar yet different from the Gundam Rasiel, it resembled a four-winged archangel, which could be seen as Yang Hui's homage to her first machine.

The weapons in her hands were replaced from two high-output Vargas rifles to a composite weapon that integrated a sword, gun, and shield, featuring a high-vibration blade, dual beam submachine guns, and a new type of superalloy shield. The Electromagnetic Cannon at her hips was also enhanced to improve its penetration power, ensuring it could pierce enemy armor. The Beam Saber was moved from her waist to her wrist.

The Dawn Gundam still retained its characteristics as a high-mobility multi-firepower machine, so the armor was significantly lighter than before. However, the new armor's protective capabilities should not be underestimated; the new superalloy was lighter, stronger, and more resilient than the previous materials, providing defense that was not inferior to E-Carbon.

Then there was Graham's Samurai Gundam, which, according to his wishes, was renamed Flag Gundam.

The armor was heavier, but it wasn't just the armor. Although Graham wasn't particularly skilled in operating mobile units for solo combat, he excelled in close combat. With his combat awareness and the cooperation of Haro, he could operate effectively, though he couldn't achieve the level of precision that Yang Hui had, akin to commanding an army.

A total of eight high-vibration floating swords were positioned on the skirt armor and shoulder armor, and they could combine with two High Vibration Blades to form a massive high-vibration greatsword. The beam boomerangs on both shoulders were removed, and two Extendable Beam Claws were added at the waist (referencing Gates). The legs concealed beam sabers, and there were no weapons on the back, but a large nozzle was added, allowing Graham to perform any excessive special maneuvers in conjunction with the control nozzles all over his body.

The two High Vibration Blades were still equipped with four small beam rifles, which remained the only means of long-range attack (the beam claws were only suitable for short distances). However, Yang Hui had enhanced their power using new technology, allowing them to penetrate the armor of ordinary VEGAN MS.

As for Yurin, she exhibited powerful X-Rounder abilities. Although she didn't use this power recklessly, putting herself in danger, it was unclear whether her experiences during the Bat Extermination Operation had helped her grow, or if learning the truth about Prometheus Fortress had motivated her to request Yang Hui to train her MS piloting skills.

"Since heaven has given me this power, I shouldn't waste it. I don't want to be a burden to others anymore. I want to fight alongside Yang Hui."

Feeling Yurin's determination, Yang Hui refrained from saying anything like "it's too dangerous."

Yurin was definitely going to be brought back to Prometheus Fortress. As Yang Hui's woman, she couldn't just be a decorative figure, nor could she live a peaceful life. If Yurin resisted fighting, Yang Hui might have Sumeragi and Kati teach her battlefield prediction, or Wang Liu Mei teach her intelligence analysis. At the very least, she could learn to sing and become a morale-boosting songstress.

But since she chose to fight, Yang Hui would no longer oppose her and would teach her with the strictest attitude.

It must be said that if Yurin wasn't a plot device, she would definitely be more capable than Flit at his peak. In just ten years, Yang Hui had helped Yurin's piloting skills progress from a complete novice to a B rank, and her ability to use floating weapons left Yang Hui in awe. Yang Hui also discovered that Yurin's use of her X-Rounder abilities in conjunction with shooting was comparable to the sniping skills of the Dylandy Brothers.

Yang Hui named Yurin's machine Luna Gundam. Aside from a sniper-type Vargas rifle and a shield, the remaining armament of Luna Gundam consisted only of a Beam Saber hanging at her lower back.

On her back was a large nozzle surrounded by a circular ring resembling a full moon, which was composed of long-range gun-type floating cannons, all designed for long-distance sniping.

Moreover, according to Yurin's control, the floating cannons could combine with the sniper-type Vargas rifle in her hands to form an ultra-high-output long-range sniper Beam Rifle (referencing Gundam Dynames' range from Earth to space), with power comparable to a simplified version of the Photon Destroyer Cannon. It could also form a large floating shield to protect herself, capable of withstanding a shot from a warship's main cannon.

During these 25 years, Yang Hui, Graham, and Yurin, like Flit, joined the Federal Army. Although they didn't rise to the position of Federal Army Commander like Flit, the special MS squad they led, Celestial Being, was not to be underestimated. They had a high degree of autonomy, with only the Federal Army Commander able to issue orders to them.

Although it was called a squad, the number of members was very small; only the most elite MS pilots in the Federal Army were qualified to join, making it a dream place for all MS pilots.

The Celestial Being squad had a high degree of autonomy and rarely participated in large-scale operations, so they didn't need many members. Most of the members who had joined the Celestial Being squad would be reassigned back to their original units after Yang Hui's approval, so the only stable personnel currently were Yang Hui, Graham, and Yurin, along with the crew of the armed transport ship Bai Ze, including veteran members Woolf and Lagan, who had already been reassigned.

Thus, the Celestial Being squad was not only an elite unit executing high-difficulty missions but also a teaching squad, a cradle for creating ace pilots.

"Are you done yet?" Yurin asked, leaning on Yang Hui's back.

"Almost there, we should be on time," Yang Hui replied, squeezing Yurin's hand before continuing to focus on his work.

"Hehehe, we can't be late. That kid admires you the most; even Flit's words aren't as effective as yours," Yurin chuckled.

"That's because Flit always has that look on his face like he owes money. He deserves it; he's grown up but isn't as cute as he was when he was little."

"Are you sure he was cute? Not just fun?"

"Well... cute and fun."

"Regardless, Flit is now the Commander of the entire army, so he naturally has to be serious."

"What of it? He's still my little brother!"

"Yes, yes, yes, you're the best."

Yurin's words were only half in jest; she could say without any personal feelings that Yang Hui was indeed the strongest!

Not to mention her MS piloting skills, the Federal Army's ace in downing enemy units, Yang Hui's tally had already surpassed 600, with only Graham coming close in second place; others couldn't even compare to that number.

As for research and MS manufacturing technology, the Dawn Gundam, Flag Gundam, and Luna Gundam were all drool-worthy for the Federal personnel. The dedicated machines given to others, like Woolf and Lagan's units, were also top-tier, with performance only second to Gundam. The Federal's latest mass-produced MS, Adele II, was also quite impressive, though it still couldn't match VEGAN's MS, it had significantly narrowed the gap with Genoece and Galanff by two-thirds.

Finally, there was battlefield command; even Flit's command skills were learned from Yang Hui. To put it bluntly, if Yang Hui wanted to stand out, Flit would have to settle for being his deputy commander.

"Ah, done! Let's get ready to depart."

"Okay, I'll go notify Captain Angola."

...

A few days later, at the Tordia Colony Satellite in space, although it wasn't as grand as before, the reformed Asuno Family was established here. Firstly, it was one of the closest colonies to the Federal Army Commander's headquarters—The Great Ring. Secondly, Tordia had the best conditions in all aspects.

As Flit's shuttle docked, he saw the Bai Ze following closely behind. The serious expression on his face finally broke into a smile, knowing that Yang Hui and the others had arrived, so he decided to wait a moment.

"Hey, Flit, you're back too! I thought you were going to find an excuse to dodge this," Yang Hui, Yurin, and Graham disembarked and greeted Flit.

"Even if military affairs are busy, I won't forget Asemu's birthday."

"Is that so? I was planning how to drag you back to The Great Ring, what a pity."

"Uh..." Flit's mouth twitched wildly. He could maintain a serious demeanor in front of anyone, but only Yang Hui could break that composure. "Yang Hui, I'm the Commander now, you know."

"So what?" Yang Hui said, pinching Flit under his arm and ruffling his hair. "You're still my little brother!"

"Enough! Stop it!" Flit broke free from Yang Hui's grip, scolding her in annoyance.

"Sigh, growing up isn't as fun anymore."

Flit: (-ェ-╬)

"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. Asemu should be getting out of school soon; Yurin and I will go pick him up. You and Graham should prepare a bit."

"Is he my son or your son...?"

"Your son, my nephew, what's the difference? Who told him to be closer to me than to you?"

...

At Tordia's school, in a shabby warehouse, a super small MS was undergoing testing, but it was clear that there were still significant issues. The iron barrels being moved fell to the ground within seconds, and the MS's arms emitted creaking sounds.

Although it failed, it had a positive effect, as three boys covered in sweat and grease managed to attract the attention of the campus idol.

"This is so cool! Is this your... that..."

"MS!"

"Right, MS! Wow, it's amazing that you can make something like this," Romary exclaimed. Despite her cute and gentle appearance, she had a strong interest in mechanical things.

"MS is our strong suit."

"Hey~ is that so?"

Compared to her two classmates, who were acting like fools upon seeing Romary, Asemu found this campus life quite interesting, and he also liked MS, feeling a sense of connection with Romary.

But the next voice startled them: "What the hell is this MS? This thing isn't even worth counting as a Mobile Worker. Asemu, have you forgotten everything I taught you?"
