After the conversation I had with Sir Brandon we when to bed. When I went back to the room Lizzy ask what were Sir Brandon and I talking about. Knowing that it will be best to keep the conversation we had quite I just told her that he wanted to talk about the root to RavenCrest and the payment plan for the driver since we pick up and extra person on the road. She believe me and we left that conversation there. The next morning we got ready and set off to RavenCrest.
Three days later we got to the large landscape lands of RavenCrest. RavenCrest is know as a dead man's land, a place where nothing grows, where the sun never shows its light. While that what the rumours say in the capital and that's how we also knew it as is. Rumours are truly misleading for what we seeing right now is large landscapes of green lands and clear blue skies with no clouds In sight, fresh clean sparkling lakes, men ploughing harvest fields, children running and smiling and women gathering water at a near by well.
"Miss this place… this place is not what people back at the capital says it is. Is this truly RavenCrest?" Lizzy said in open shock and fascination at her surroundings.
" I know Lizzy. This is nothing like the rumours." I said as I chuckled to myself.
I already knew this about the land but the reason behind the rumours I didn't know. This is another reason why I have come here. For it doesn't make any sense for the kingdom to make up rumours of a place like this unless they are hiding something.
When the Great War was ending this place was the battle ground where it happened. All of the kingdom men and creatures of the night gather together to fight to the dead after the war there was nothing left of the land, nothing to show of the land and nothing to grow from the land hence the rumours of dead man's land. All of the magical elements and overflowing of power stayed in the air and seed in the land making it uninhabitable. So this does not make sense sense of the fact that the land itself has flourished over the centuries since the wall. That kind of overflow power shouldn't have recovered the land even to this capacity. How were they able to restore the land to its glory and make it habitable for people to live.
The carriage slowdown in front of large black gates. Beyond the large gates lies a large black splendid castle with Majestic Gardens and fruit trees aligning the pathways to the castle. A man dressing in black steel knight attire came up to the carriage and spoke to the driver. Sir Brandon jumped off from the back of the carriage and walked up to the knight and spoke to him telling him that the young daughter of the Count has come to visit. The knight went back into the gates to announce our arrival went by and the knight had returned to to escort us into the castle. The long road driving up to the castle showing the large oak trees aligning the sides of the road, neatly cut grass adorning the grounds of the castle, workers walking about doing their duties and maids rushing up to the castle to greet us. The large black castle was intimidating for its goth effect and how it looked like a horror house but that's to others. But to me the house was splendid and magnanimous. A true piece of history and while built architecture it was I loved it. For the first time it felt like home a real home.
"Miss are you sure about this" Lizzy ask in a shaky voice.
I turned to Lizzie in the carriage and held her hand and reassured her that it will be fine that nothing will go wrong and that if anything does go wrong we will go back. She nodded her head and agreement and we both stepped out of the carriage. This is when it all begins
