Vanessa led Alvin through the forest; she moved with measured steps, taking turns from time to time while Alvin followed behind, easily keeping up with her speed. His eyes peered through the darkness as if it was daylight; his steps were light, maintaining a constant speed.
Even though they were moving at a fast pace, Alvin was well aware of his surroundings, where he was moving, and what around him could attack them at any moment.
The beasts they came across on their way were something he had never seen in his life before.
Some were ferocious enough to scare even someone who is not easily scared, while some were so beautiful that even Alvin took a moment to appreciate their beauty.
One such beast was a beautiful butterfly. It had silky red wings; the size of the butterfly was bigger than a person's hand, and the wings on her had special curved markings.
As he focused on its wing, the markings stretched, and he saw a pair of abyss-like eyes appear on the wings.
