"Vanessa, what are you doing?" Upon arriving at the laboratory, Elara directly barged into the room without knocking. Alvin followed her and saw the maid seated at the table, flipping through the pages of books one by one.
'Aren't these the books she bought from that weird shop?' Alvin thought but chose not to say anything. Vanessa raised her head from the book and looked at Elara. "So you are finally out. I thought you would spend all of eternity in that room."
"Come on, don't be like this, my dear maid." Elara walked towards Vanessa and hugged her from behind. "We only have a few hours together; who knows how long it will be before we meet again?"
Hearing this, Vanessa let out a strained sigh; she was not surprised by the sudden closeness and patted her arm. "I will be fine, Lady Elara; with Her Ladyship around, no one will dare to do anything to me."
