After the unbelievably awkward incident, Leonard quickly regained his composure. He looked at the system pop-up before him and swiftly read the lines of text, which appeared in his mind like flowing water.
"The village's secret is that due to its superstitions, it used women to pray for rain by casting them into the river—romantically calling it a marriage to the river god. However, they called forth a monster instead of summoning a river god. The creature granted the villagers only a few rain showers, demanding more sacrifices of women for additional rain. Eventually, all the women in the village perished. At that point, the villagers turned their sights on lost travelers. Ultimately, the sacrificed women devoured the monster and became one, returning to exact revenge on the villagers."
It is a tragic tale of fate, yet in the end, just another excuse for these monsters to deal with humans. After all, inside a dungeon, who wasn't a monster?
