Kaelos' voice boomed, causing the crowd to instantly stop their murmuring. Everyone stared at him with fear, but I could see some defiance.
He slowly lowered me off his body, letting me stand close to him. I quickly clutched the suit draped over my body like a coat, lowering my head in both shame and hesitation.
What would become my fate?
"Alpha King. With all due respect to the fact that this is your territory, you have no right." Lucinda snapped, her voice not even trembling slightly. "Odessa is the Luminari Coven's burden. As our coven's delegate, I—"
"She's MY burden and MY wife, so I decide what happens to her." Kaelos interrupted with a cold tone, a guttural growl escaping his mouth.
I raised my head and glanced at him just then, seeing the small frown lines on the side of his head. But the coldness in his eyes was unlike anything I've ever seen in him before.
