Just as I was about to lay down on my bed I heard a knock on the door.
I yanked the door open and there he was standing,he was the last person I expected to see at this at this time of the night..
" What can I do for you, Leo?"
" Can I ... "
" I'm listening "
Without any further words, he barged into my room.
I looked on with shock written all over my face .
" Why would you do that?"
"I'm so sorry, but I really need to see you and get this off my mind, you... you felt it right? He asked with an unsure voice while dragging his fingers through his hair down to his face in exasperation.
" What are you talking about?" I actually know what he is saying,but I'm not ready to betray my emotions, I mean,even if we are feeling the same way it won't work out and it's right that I kill whatever emotions and fantasy that is building within me.
" I don't understand what you are saying and you know you shouldn't be here,not at this hour" I protested.
At that instant,he swiftly walked closer to me and before I knew what was happening he gripped my shoulders firmly and with the most soothing voice I ever heard he said
" Deny it however you want, I know you felt the chemistry, I know you have been looking at me and Gosh I know you see me the way I see you, honestly I have been trying so hard to deny it myself but I just can't and just like the way your guts is telling you that it doesn't matter and you are trying so hard to kill the feelings,that's the same with me but then the heart wants what it wants"
Standing in close proximity with him gave me the chance to look at him closely. Oh damn he is so handsome, from his burning eyes filled with flames, his chiselled jawline down to his very succulent lips, oh I could just steal a peck from those lips but it's wrong and I can't engage in such an act. I imagined running my fingers from his shoulders down to his fingers, I also imagined him carrying me to the bed and doing everything I have ever dreamt of doing with him , I can as well dwell in my imaginations all day. I was so mesmerized with his presence and in deep thoughts that I didn't know he was done talking to me. The next word I heard from him really shocked me down to my bone marrow,
"My sunshine"
Did I just hear him correctly? I mean nobody has ever used such endearing name to address me except my Father,though lately we seem to be in a very stiff relationship all thanks to his wife,MY DEAREST MOTHER UUGHH.
In a bid to salvage the tension that is already building between us I decided to halt his love confession as I wouldn't like to be involved in such entanglement.
"I'm not sure what you noticed or what you feel and I don't intend to be in any form of relationship with you, so please leave before you are caught"
I saw the shock and the look of dejection in his face and I knew then that I shouldn't have disregarded his feelings for me but then again I domt want to fall deeply into temptation more than I already have.
"Ok ma'am,my apologies I shouldn't have crossed the line'.
His last statement really tore my heart to pieces but my word is my word and it's also for our good.
" I would like to take my leave, do have a good night rest ".
I went over to my bed without uttering any word,while he left himself out.
And I cried bitterly.
