Slowly," the doctor cautioned as she drank. "You'll feel a bit of energy returning soon, but don't mistake it as a sign to overexert. Let your body guide you."
Bai Shiyue gave a faint nod, her hand still resting protectively over her belly. "I won't. I'm not planning on being a hero."
The doctor gave a short chuckle. "You're already one. That baby? That's the bravest journey in this whole apocalypse."
Bai Shiyue's eyes shimmered again, but she smiled. "I'll protect him. Or her. No matter what."
"Good," Yiran said, brushing a strand of hair from Bai Shiyue's forehead. "Now go back and rest. Get some breakfast as well."
"Okay, thank you. Have a good day ahead" she said softly as she stood.
"Thank you. And you'll rest." Yiran's voice was firm but kind. "Doctor's orders."
Bai Shiyue didn't argue. She simply nodded, gave them both a quiet thank-you, and left the room, taking the elevator down once more.
