Chapter 96 - Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [96]

The speed at which the other party changed their attitude left Rhodes a little surprised—impressive, truly impressive!

These suddenly appearing giant monsters had stunned the leader of the Kabal Blackheart.

But Rhodes didn't feel that was enough. Since his giant monsters had finally been summoned, how could he let them leave without firing a few shots? If they were going to demonstrate their power, they'd have to put on a proper show.

"Mr. Vet, it seems you still don't fully understand the strength of my family. In that case, allow me to give you a demonstration of what these big guys are capable of! Each of my monsters only fires one attack, and they are all ranged attacks," Rhodes said with a cold laugh.

At Rhodes' command, Golza launched a supersonic ray, targeting nearby members of the Kabal Blackheart.

The location of this trade deal was, of course, the other party's base, so there were no civilians around—only Dark Eldar warriors of the Kabal Blackheart. Rhodes had no intention of holding back.

Melba soared into the sky and fired its Melba Beam toward the Kabal Blackheart's spaceship, destroying it with a crimson laser.

Gomora's twin horns began to glow red, and it unleashed a Super Oscillation Wave. The frost monster Guigass fired its new freezing beam, while Miclas launched a thermal ray.

Under the barrage of the monsters' beam attacks, waves of Kabal Blackheart members were frozen, numerous buildings were destroyed, and countless Dark Eldar fled in all directions.

Some members who dared to attack Rhodes found their assaults completely nullified by the energy shield released by Iron. Fully upgraded, Iron could absorb all nearby damage on Rhodes' behalf.

The cosmic robot Iron, after absorbing enough damage, began to shine with a golden-red light in its chest, charging its energy cannon.

"Enough! Enough! Mr. Loki, I told you, this is just a misunderstanding, really just a misunderstanding! Please stop! Continuing this fight won't do either of us any good," Vect said, hurriedly wiping the sweat from his forehead.

This was his territory, and everything here—his assets, his people—belonged to the Kabal Blackheart. The destruction here only benefited his competitors and other conspirators, who would surely celebrate and even seize the opportunity to undermine him.

This level of damage would threaten his position in Commorragh City. He had already witnessed the power of the energy attacks from these giant monsters, and the energy cannon on the robot's chest was something he didn't even want to imagine. If it fired, the losses would be catastrophic.

The other party's methods were simply overwhelming. This bizarre teleportation ability was truly terrifying. If one day they decided to send an army to his doorstep—or worse, directly appear in his bedroom—there would be no way to defend against it.

"Heh, I would hope so. Otherwise… Mr. Vect, you wouldn't want me to suddenly teleport a dozen giant monsters or a Titan construct into your bedroom, would you? I imagine that would be quite the scene, don't you think?" Rhodes said.

At those words, cold sweat broke out on Vect's forehead—this was exactly what he feared most.

The ability to silently infiltrate Commorragh City, completely ignoring his territorial defenses with this super S-level spatial teleportation technology, meant that if the other party wanted him dead, it would be all too easy.

"Please forgive my rudeness, Lord Loki. I'm willing to make amends. Name your price, and I will compensate you," Vect said with a forced smile.

Hearing this, Rhodes finally nodded in satisfaction and snapped his fingers. All the monsters instantly disappeared.

This skill of summoning monsters from a system space was indeed quite intimidating—enough to utterly break an opponent's mental defenses at times.

Just as Rhodes had expected, this move caused Vect's smile to freeze once again. Unless he could figure out a way to counter this super teleportation ability, there was no way he would dare to offend the man in front of him.

"In that case, Mr. Vect, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I am still very interested in doing business with you. As for compensation, Mr. Vect, you, as the leader of the largest Kabal group in Commorragh City and the de facto controller of this city, wouldn't mind covering the tab after I finish shopping, would you?" Rhodes said.

Since you've offended me, you can pay my bill!

When Balt picks out what he wants, you'll cover the cost for me.

Standing nearby, Lelith revealed a faint smile and nodded at Vect.

The most expensive services provided by the Haemonculi are their various flesh modification services and resurrection technology. Buying equipment from them is not the most costly; in fact, some of their biotech devices can even be purchased in Commorragh City. What makes the Haemonculi truly valuable is their mastery of flesh technology.

The leader of the Kabal Blackheart can afford this price, so hurry up and pay to appease this man! Don't let him lose his temper again.

The commotion just now must have cost the Kabal Blackheart dearly! At least several ships were destroyed, and the death toll is in the tens of thousands.

Seeing his old friend Lelith nod, Vect also smiled and spoke up:

"Hahaha! No problem! No problem!

Whatever you need to buy later, just put it on my tab.

Consider it a small gift from me to your family. Just remember to bring any good products to me first in the future."

"Well then, Mr. Vect, how many doses of the Frost Warrior Serum would you like to purchase?" Rhodes asked again.

Vect first tidied his clothes and ordered his subordinates to clean up the ruins, count the injured and dead, and then, as if nothing had happened, began his conversation with Rhodes.

"Lord Loki, how much can you provide?"

"I can supply you with 20,000 doses of the Frost Beast Enhancement Serum per month," Rhodes replied.

After returning, he would have Balt set up a few more monster serum production lines. The enhancement serum derived from the frozen beast Guigass was practically unlimited. Producing 100,000 doses per month would be effortless, but these monster serums were not for Vect alone.

After all, Commorragh City housed many other kabals, as well as factions such as the Aeldari of Craftword, the Exodites, and the Eldar Pirates—potential clients for Rhodes.

If feasible, even the Harlequin was a target, though these guys served the God of Laughter, and it was uncertain whether they would accept genetic modifications.

Vect was shocked when he heard this number. He had thought that getting 10,000 enhancement serums per month would already be impressive, but to his surprise, the other party could provide 20,000.

"Hahaha! Lord Loki, then I'll take them all! I want to place an order for the entire next year's supply," Vect declared.

"So, a pleasure doing business, Mr. Vect.

Your total order for the next year will be 250,000 doses of the monster serum. I'll throw in an extra 10,000 doses for free as a discount, rounding it up," Rhodes said with a smile.

The two then engaged in a friendly trade negotiation. This time, Rhodes did not propose a barter system but instead opted for Commorragh City's circulating Dark Eldar currency as payment.

In the galaxy, Commorragh's currency was highly valuable. In this Dark Eldar capital, it could buy almost anything one desired.

It was also a recognized currency among pirate captains and could even be used to trade with traveling merchants, making it far more valuable than the Empire's Throne Coins.

Afterward, the group left the area that Rhodes' giant monsters had devastated. Under Vect's introduction, they made their way to the domain of a renowned Haemonculi—Urien Lacas.

Lacas was a well-known Haemonculus who had provided services to Vect multiple times and possessed unimaginably advanced flesh modification techniques.

In fact, in the past, when Vect had been killed, it was this master who had resurrected him through flesh reconstruction.

Haemonculis were a group of people who enjoyed modifying their bodies with flesh alterations. If you saw one with two heads and five or six arms, you wouldn't find it strange at all.

This master stood about 2.5 meters tall. His head had undergone various flesh modifications and no longer resembled a Dark Eldar. His body bore several mechanical limbs and additional flesh arms.

"Vect, are you here for another flesh modification service?" Lacas asked.

"Master Lacas, this gentleman is a noble descendant from the Ancient Eldar Empire.

The Frost Warriors circulating on the market and the genetically modified red flying dragons are all his creations. I've brought him here to do business with you," Vect introduced.

"Oh? I didn't expect that outside of Commorragh, there are still remnants of the ancient empire's nobility. How did your ancestors survive?" Lacas asked.

During the great crisis of the birth of the Slaanesh, aside from some Craftword Eldar who hid in the network passages or on the edges of the galaxy, nearly all others were wiped out.

"That is a family secret, Master Lacas. Please forgive me for not disclosing it.

I have come here today to purchase some advanced biological modification equipment from you," Rhodes said politely.

"No problem, come in and take a look for yourselves! As long as you can pay, what I have here is the best in the galaxy—without a doubt.

When you have time, let's exchange notes. Your Frost Warrior modifications and those mutant flying dragons are very interesting to me," Lacas said.

"Of course, Master. If you're interested, I can sell you some," Rhodes replied.

"Haha! You're straightforward! Then I won't be polite.

From now on, we're fellow Haemonculus—make sure to come to me for business often, and I'll do the same for you."

So… did I just become a Haemonculus without realizing it?
