Chapter 112 - Chapter 112

Facing the surprised and uncertain look of Nick Fury, Luke was not surprised. He had expected Fury to have such a reaction.

Scientists all over the world were researching thermonuclear fusion technology, but none had succeeded. According to conservative estimates, this technology was at least a hundred years ahead of Earth's current advancements.

Fury must have understood its significance. That would make negotiations easier. Otherwise, if someone didn't recognize the value of the item, Luke would have a headache.

Next, Luke picked out some information that he could reveal, explaining the maturity of his technology and why he needed materials. He claimed that he wanted to conduct a nuclear fusion ignition test, that the theory was mature, but he was still lacking materials.

Nick Fury was stunned for a long time.

Was this what a super genius could do? He felt a mixture of emotions.

He had encountered the original Einstein and Howard Stark. He had always thought Tony would be next. But now, the next one seemed to be standing right in front of him.

If it was true that Luke had developed mature thermonuclear fusion technology at the age of seven, this little kid was destined to be at the forefront of human history. It was hard to imagine how much he would achieve in the future...

"I need a comprehensive assessment from a team of experts. It may take some time," Fury said after pondering.

"Okay, but don't take too long. I'm busy." Luke said nonchalantly, sipping from a milk carton.

"I want to take this." Fury held up the sketch drawn by Luke.

"Don't even think about it. Here, this is a copy. Give me back the one I drew myself. It may be priceless in the future. I have to keep it." Luke glanced at Fury with a knowing look, despising his attempt to take advantage of a child.

Fury was furious. He thought it best to leave quickly.

The brat's ability to annoy people was directly proportional to his genius, and he experienced this every time.

"I'll contact you." Fury gave up on taking Luke's original sketch, left that sentence, and hurriedly got into the Chevrolet waiting on the roadside before leaving.

Luke shrugged, looked at the surrounding scenery comfortably, sipped his milk, and flicked the empty carton into a roadside trash can with perfect accuracy. Kicking off his SpongeBob slippers, he crossed the street to go home.

The weather was really nice.

---

Before the day was over, Fury called again.

He said he had contacted the nearest nuclear energy research institute and obtained a batch of nuclear materials in the name of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Fury was quick and efficient.

S.H.I.E.L.D. worked fast. This batch of nuclear materials had already been loaded onto a truck and was ready for shipment. They would be delivered as soon as the warehouse was rebuilt.

For this reason, Fury once again suggested that Luke conduct his research elsewhere. Although the warehouse was in the suburbs, it was still in New York. Fury was really afraid that Luke would blow up the city during his research.

Luke repeatedly stressed that his fusion technology was mature and safe. He also pointed out that he had to go to school, making it inconvenient to be too far from home. Fury had no choice but to relent.

However, Fury's request was also demanding. After all, he was the investor and had the right to make demands.

Fury promised to fund the project, with S.H.I.E.L.D. covering all expenses and research costs. The price? Luke had to accept a team of nuclear experts sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. to participate in the project.

Luke accepted indifferently. The core of his project was the artificial sun, and the nuclear fusion reactor was only a small part. He believed there would be Hydra agents among the nuclear experts.

However, with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s inept scientists, even if the mature fusion technology was placed right in front of them, they would still need more than ten years to figure it out. After all, not everyone had the last name Stark.

In addition to several rare nuclear materials, Fury also helped procure various rare elements on Luke's list.

The elements Luke requested were complex and numerous, with some stored in locations outside the East Coast, requiring air transport from other states. This would take time.

Luke accepted this. He wasn't unreasonable.

However, what happened next made him unhappy and forced Luke to take action.

A few days later, Luke received word from S.H.I.E.L.D. that the warehouse had been rebuilt, and the nuclear materials and professional equipment had arrived, waiting for his inspection.

But several rare elements Luke requested had not arrived due to a minor issue. S.H.I.E.L.D. was still negotiating.

These missing rare elements were crucial. Without them, the fusion experiment could not begin. The three most important metals—iridium, rhodium, and palladium—were irreplaceable.

Luke investigated the situation and discovered that these elements had been available. Several national laboratories had agreed to airlift them over. But someone unexpectedly appeared and bought out all the rare elements.

The heads of these laboratories had been bribed, and the elements were sold at a price several times higher than market value.

Luke got a name: Stark Industries.

While the warehouse was being rebuilt, Skye also called, surprised about the incident. Her laptops had been inside, and when she checked, she found only a construction site.

Luke explained and assured her that she would be compensated with top-tier equipment.

Skye didn't dare argue. In her mind, this must have been retaliation from Luke's enemies. Too dangerous. Fortunately, she wasn't there at the time. Her imagination ran wild with war movie plots.

Yes, it was revenge.

When Luke learned Stark Industries was behind it, he immediately understood. Tony was getting back at him.

Tony already knew he was the Apostle and had clearly been keeping an eye on him. Learning about the nuclear fusion project from S.H.I.E.L.D. was no challenge for Tony. Using his wealth, he intercepted the materials, effectively firing the first shot in their confrontation.

"Damn, what a rich man," Luke muttered.

If you had money, you could do whatever you wanted. It was said that to bribe the laboratory heads, Tony offered a price ten times above market value, just to buy these key elements. He was also in the energy business and knew exactly what was critical.

Precise, fast, and experienced. Even Luke had to admit Tony had struck hard.

Without iridium, rhodium, and palladium, his fusion reactor couldn't ignite, and his artificial sun project would be nothing but empty talk.

So Luke really wanted to cause trouble now.

"Master, guess what I found?" Ross suddenly laughed.

"Does Tony have any weak spots?" Luke's eyes lit up.

"Yes. Tonight, Tony Stark will attend a charity gala with Pepper."

"A charity gala?"

Hearing this, Luke suddenly had an idea and immediately formed a plan.

He rubbed his hands together and grinned mischievously. "Hey, hey. Tony, this is what happens when you mess with me!"
