"Is it really necessary to be so anxious?"
Noah stood in front of the mirror, wiping his face. Reflected back was a boy with short, light-golden hair and strikingly handsome features.
If only he didn't look so sleepy, it would've been a perfect picture.
But there was no helping it. It was barely eight in the morning, and Noah had already been forcefully woken up by Ms. Haifin.
Naturally, this made him quite grumpy. Had it been anyone else, Noah might've cast a silencing spell on them without a second thought.
Groaning, he dragged himself out of bed and began his usual morning routine.
Currently, Noah was on a two-month vacation. Hogwarts had nothing lined up for the second half of the year—partly thanks to the chaos Noah had left behind during the first half.
After all, everything that needed dealing with... had already been handled—thoroughly.
Whether it was the Basilisk or the diary, nothing remained—not even a trace of magical residue.
Lucius Malfoy had been clearly disturbed when Harry returned the diary. Whether Harry had done it on purpose or not was still up for debate, but what mattered was he used the opportunity to free Dobby, the Malfoy family's mistreated house-elf.
Dumbledore, in his usual cryptic fashion, didn't reprimand Lucius. In fact, he practically ignored him altogether—leaving Lucius flustered and humiliated as he exited the school.
As for Dobby?
Just a servant, gone like a whisper in the wind.
More importantly, with Noah's help, Dumbledore had located Ravenclaw's Diadem, hidden away in the Room of Requirement.
After careful inspection, Dumbledore concluded it was indeed a Horcrux—one of the dark artifacts Voldemort had used to anchor his soul.
"How about using the Basilisk's fang? Voldemort always fancies himself the heir of Slytherin, right?" Noah had remarked casually. "Use a snake to kill a snake. Or maybe even Fiendfyre—it's one of the few cursed flames capable of burning something so twisted."
Both suggestions came straight out of the original timeline, and Dumbledore had latched onto them instantly.
The Basilisk's corpse still lay beneath the castle, so Professor Snape took it upon himself to cast Fiendfyre on the diadem.
With a scream that sounded like the wails of the damned, the cursed object was reduced to ash before their very eyes.
After rigorous testing, Dumbledore confirmed that the soul fragment was completely annihilated. Everyone breathed easier.
Another Horcrux destroyed—another victory won.
But celebration soon turned to unease. How many more Horcruxes had Voldemort created?
"Since he defiled the diadem, he might've gone after the Hufflepuff Cup too," Noah mused. "And the Slytherin Locket. That belonged to the Gaunt family—Voldemort is Marvolo Gaunt's grandson, after all. Seems like something he'd treasure."
Dumbledore had stared at him, wide-eyed.
Noah listed off each known Horcrux casually, as if reading them from a book—which, in a way, he was.
The old wizard and his companions couldn't help but suspect that Noah already knew about these artifacts. And they were right. They just didn't know how far that knowledge extended—or who might've taught him.
Still, it all made sense. If Voldemort dared to defile Rowena Ravenclaw's legacy, why not Helga Hufflepuff's?
As for Godric Gryffindor's sword, that was safely in Dumbledore's possession—untouchable. And the locket? Taken long ago by Marvolo Gaunt.
Noah's insights were not only accepted, but quietly documented. There was work to do.
Even if they couldn't find all the Horcruxes immediately, at least Voldemort wouldn't be bouncing back from death anytime soon.
When final exams rolled around, Noah once again ranked first—but this time, he shared the honor.
Kenn and three others, along with Hermione Granger and Ernie Macmillan, all scored perfect marks.
The "Wizard Alliance" as they jokingly called themselves, had made waves once again.
When term ended, they boarded the Hogwarts Express and said their goodbyes, promising to meet during the summer holidays.
After an eight-hour journey, Noah finally arrived back at his destination—the Westminster orphanage.
Ms. Haifin greeted him warmly and shared news about Constantine and Chase.
Their independent office had already been established and had begun accepting jobs.
Thanks to Dumbledore's previous support, the Ministry of Magic was aware of their activities. Even Lucius, oddly enough, had contributed to their early traction.
In just a few months, their reputation had grown. Several lucrative jobs had been completed.
There was just one problem—they had no way to contact Noah. So the payment? They handed it to Ms. Haifin.
"If they gave it to you, just keep it," Noah said with a shrug. "Most of their resources came from me in the first place. What's mine is yours."
"But…" Ms. Haifin hesitated.
"I'm still just a kid," Noah replied. "What am I going to do with piles of gold?"
"…Okay."
And it was a sizable amount. Many of the clients were wealthy businessmen with links to the magical world. Even though the wizarding community was separate, there were always overlaps—especially where exorcists were concerned.
The Ministry had tried to rein in their activities, but in the end, reluctantly allowed it—so long as they never exposed the secrets of the magical world.
Thus, exorcists became the unofficial bridge between wizards and Muggles.
Later that week, Ms. Haifin excitedly showcased the fruits of her studies.
Though she still couldn't properly use the "Hand of Magic" technique, the spell had started to manifest faintly.
Noah observed her magical energy—it was gradually strengthening, even surpassing the average Squib's level.
He was genuinely impressed.
But then Ms. Haifin, still flushed with excitement, declared she wanted more intense training.
And so… Noah was dragged out of bed early the next morning.
"Is this what they call falling into your own trap?" he muttered, trudging downstairs.
But when he entered the living room, he froze.
There was someone sitting next to Ms. Haifin.
A bald woman with a serene expression, clad in flowing yellow robes, watching Ms. Haifin with an amused smile.
Noah's heart skipped a beat.
"Teacher?!"
It was her—The Ancient One—his mysterious master from Kamar-Taj!
Why was she here? Had something happened?
Ms. Haifin turned upon hearing Noah's voice, puzzled. "Teacher? What are you talking about?"
She looked around, confused. There was no one there.
But then… reality shattered.
Glass-like shards peeled away from the air, revealing a seated figure—calm and composed.
Ms. Haifin leapt up with a startled gasp. "W-What is happening?!"
"I apologize for the fright, madam," the Ancient One said with a gentle bow. "I wasn't certain if Noah was home, so I remained in the Mirror Dimension and only allowed him to see me."
"M-Mirror Dimension?" Ms. Haifin stammered. "What even is that?"
"It's a separate plane, harmless to the physical world," the Ancient One explained with a smile. "Think of it as a magical one-way mirror. I use it often."
She then turned to Noah. "So, this is the woman who cares for you?"
"Avril Haifin Hall," Ms. Haifin said, standing tall now. "But please, just call me Avril."
Having confirmed her identity, Ms. Haifin's demeanor changed entirely—respect and awe radiating from her.
She knew who this was.
The Ancient One—the greatest sorcerer alive. Guardian of the Earth. Master of Kamar-Taj.
Despite her own magical struggles, Ms. Haifin studied daily. She knew the legends.
And to know that her child—Noah—had been chosen by the greatest of all?
She felt pride surge within her.
Noah, still trying to comprehend her sudden appearance, finally asked, "Teacher… why are you here?"
The Ancient One smiled softly. "Our last meeting—our only meeting—was a year ago, Noah."
She tilted her head slightly.
"In that entire time, you've only sent one letter. And even that letter… surprised me."
Her smile widened just a little.
"So tell me, Noah… Can't a teacher come visit her disciple?"
