CHAPTER 59
****
Zeke's POV
I glanced at the wall clock in the familiar room, anxiety rushing through my veins. I hated all of this, but there was nothing more I could do.
Soon, I heard the creak of the door. Knowing exactly who it was, I didn't bother to look back. I had been expecting him. In fact, I had been coming here every day at this exact time for the past five days, yet there was no trace of him. Now, I looked like nothing more than a fool standing here with no purpose.
"Lord Zeke?" That voice. It came as little more than a whisper, as if he didn't want anyone to hear him. He silently closed the door behind him.
"You shouldn't be here, Lord Zeke," he said again. But I didn't answer. I didn't even move. I simply stood with my back to him while he spoke.
"You know the consequences of this, don't you?" I finally said, turning to face him. Fear was written all over his face.
"B-but it's not right," he muttered.
