Instead, he looked like a broken man. His tattered clothes hung loosely on his frame, soaked and stiff with dried blood. He appeared wretched, haunted, even.
They stood far from the safety of the city, at the borderland where the Crescent Moon Pack's territory ended and the land of the witches, the Bloodbind Circle—began.
Anyone present could feel it: the air wafting from the direction of the Bloodbind Circle was unnatural, thick with power and an unsettling darkness. It pulsed with malevolence, a fitting aura for a coven named the Bloodbind Circle.
