"Miguel?" she murmured, her voice barely a whisper.
The sudden recognition sobered her completely, and she instinctively took a step back, as if trying to distance herself from the electric tension between them.
"Wow! It's a coincidence indeed!" Miguel replied, his easy smile not reflecting the storm brewing in Elisa's chest.
"It's not, I'm almost leaving," she stammered, forcing herself to walk past him, her determination to escape wavered as his hand caught her wrist lightly, stopping her in her tracks.
"We have unfinished business, let's talk."
"What kind of business are you talking about?" Elisa's bewilderment drew her brows together. She couldn't wrap her mind around how he could speak so easily after all they had been through.
"Listen…" miguel took a deep breath, his gaze locked onto hers with an intensity that made her breath hitch.
Elisa laughed sharply, cutting him off. The alcohol had vanished from her system, replaced by clear-headed realization.
