Chapter 6 - He knows

Aros quickly washed up and came downstairs like nothing happened.

Duo f's and upper F's were already at the dining, smiling as Mrs. Linton arranged the table, which she later left as the maids stopped her from doing it.

"Oh Aros, you are awake," his mum called out after she sighted him on the last step.

"Yes mum, good morning ," Aros went over to give her a peck at the side of her temple, before going to join the others at the table.

"Good morning my love," Tessa greeted her brother, and she seemed to be in a hurry as she was going to school that morning.

"Mine, I'll come pick you up from school okay?" said Aros to his sister.

"Sure, just don't come late," Tessa replied though she seemed a bit tense.

Jason and Aaron, returned home and so did upper F's as their worried parents had begun calling.

.

"Sue?" for the nth time today, Susan spaced out as Layla observed her worriedly.

The bell finally rung, indicating the class was over.

Layla quickly packed up her books, in pursuit of Susan who seemed to be in a hurry.

"Girl, what's up with you? What happened to being sisters," Layla spoke, after she had closed the distance between herself and Susan.

"I'm sorry Lei, it's just something I couldn't wait to tell you about," Susan whispered.

She narrated what went on between herself and Mr. Shane that night and Layla's eyes popped wide in surprise, her cheeks, turning red in embarrassment, every once in a while.

Their whispers continued, with that of other students, as the clicking of their shoes made way, down to the library.

"Rumors are spreading ma'am, the students are saying the ghost of the black magic user, is after them," Ms. Morgan's assistance spoke.

"Hush it dear, there's no such thing as ghosts and that black magic user was buried with whatever char was left of him from the fire accident," Ms. Morgan spoke in a calm tone, while her assistant quivered under the skirt she wore.

A knock was soon heard, before Mr. Simon walked in.

"Madam, I think there's a problem," he said.

"Speak Simon, I don't have all time in the world you know?" Ms. Morgan gave out a snort and "ahh" an exasperated sigh.

"I think….t- the school drinking fountain has been spiked, and when I say spiked, I mean po-poisoned but not the harmful type" Mr. Simon stuttered.

"What?!" Ms. Morgan's eyebrows rose in astonishment.

*

"I heard your pretty brother is in town darling," Sarah squealed, her eyebrows teasing at Tessa who looked red.

"Yeah he is, and he called me his calmness after gifting me an anklet, seriously how does he want me to get an husband or less, a boyfriend if his standards are that high? Tessa spoke in a manner which seemed disappointed but also very happy.

"He really is something right?" Sarah cooed.

"Freaks," A brown haired boy spoke behind them, his eyes glaring in rage, not missing the bandage on his nose.

He walked closer to Tessa, his hands tightly gripped her shoulder, she was cool until she heard "Just you wait for my elder brother".

"Aghh" her eyes widened in fear, her mind picturing that maniac, she hated his touch so much,

"Grrr!!!" the sound of the alarm for the first class dispersed her reverie, she grabbed her books as she and Sarah both went to their class.

*

"Ms. Daisy has ran some tests and the results show that what was put in the water, was a sleeping dose, though it wasn't identified as one we have ever seen in this city". Mr. Simon explained.

"I'm glad it was only a sleeping dose, but why? Where are the students anyway?" Ms. Morgan asked.

"They are in the library Ma'am" Mr. Simon replied.

The place was eerily silent, the air cold, light from some of the open windows, reflecting on the many genres of books that were placed inside shelves.

"Hmm," a voice murmured, it's eyes going the scan the many faces of students who now rested their heads atop reading tables in deep sleep.

"Let's see which one you are", the voice spoke again, this time his eyes turned black.

"1, 2, 3, 4," he counted, finally stopping at "15", his hands going to caress Layla's face.

"So you like him a lot huh, then I shall possess this body to get closer to him," he spoke.

Taking in a deep breath, he tried to fizzle in the purple light emanating from his eyes into Layla's body. For a while, he thought it was working, until he felt the girl's meridians, resisting his energy.

"Ahh.." his mouth hung open, while his eyes widened in surprise. This had never happened, unless…

"He knows," he murmured, fear gradually creeping into his dark heart.

He sensed people coming this way, so he quickly apparated, but not before waking them all up.

"Hey I like this book," one of the students yelled, while the librarian gestured him to be quiet, but students were stubborn, thus their whispered chatters continued, like they were never asleep.

*

He tried to focus on the video game he was playing, but he couldn't. Though his tattoos had stopped bleeding, he couldn't shrug off this feeling, that something was wrong.

Armaros checked his watch, it was 30 minutes passed 2, he had to go pickup Tessa, so he wore his jacket, then told his mum he was going. On getting to the front door, Nathan was already there, waiting for him.

"And why are you here?" Aros questioned.

"We can't let it slide can we?" Nathan countered with a question, causing Aros to stare at him in confusion, "Can't let what slide?"

"The bruise on her wrist," Nathan replied, while Aros smirked, "Let's go pickup our baby sister," Aros spoke. This time, Nathan gave out a smirk of his own.

The last bell rung, indicating school was over. Tessa hurriedly packed her books into her bag.

"Sarah, backdoor," she spoke, while the later zipped her bag, they both held hands, left the class, and headed for the backdoor.

They navigated some halls, before they finally got to the backdoor, but unluckily for them, broken nose guy and his lame friends were already waiting for them.

"Not so fast freaks", he grunted angrily.

Sarah held Tessa's hand more firmly than before, Her brown hair stiff and her green eyes staring in fear.

"Hey Dash, I apologized for what I did to your pretty nose yesterday and the whole school at that, so just let us go unless you want more than just a beautiful nose", Tessa spoke confidently, as she hadn't sighted his elder brother anywhere around.

The sounds of some rebellious students wheezed past the gate behind the back door, going out to do, only god knew what awful things they were up to.

"Shut up!! you purple eyed alien", Dash spoke as his friends turned to stare at him weirdly. Seriously, couldn't he come up with something better than that, even Tessa giggled.

"Tess", there came that evil sweet growl of a voice, she had been trying so hard to avoid.

He emerged from the hallway on the left, then walked over to where Tessa stood. Dash stared at his elder brother in triumph.

"This is not fair you know, bringing elder brothers into younger students quarrel. If we are doing elder brothers, then trust me you don't want to see mine", Tessa threatened.

Zion, Dash's elder brother, smiled sardonically, "Oh.. I'm scared!!" he mused dramatically, before taking a strand of Tessa's silver hair in his hands.

Tessa would have reacted by giving him a punch, but yesterday, during dance practice, he had gripped her hands tightly, like a warning, and she felt his strength like he could dissolve her easily.

Zion took hold of Tessa's hand and Sarah almost screamed in fright.

He stared at the bruise on her wrist, then his eyes flared in self anger, " I didn't mean to hurt you, I'm sorry", He said to Tessa, his brows scrunched together in remorse.

Dash and his lackeys stared at Zion in confusion, why was he acting all sweet when this freak was the one who broke his nose. It wasn't like he was innocent either, he had tried to talk dirty to Tessa.

Tessa was also confused as to why this guy was acting all nice.

Zion lowered his head to kiss her wrist, but as soon as his face was back up, Tessa saw that disgusting smirk.

"I can't like trash like you, freak, I'll show you what bone breaking feels like", Zion smiled.

"I dare you", was all they heard, before those hollow blue eyes came into view.

Tessa looked backwards and her heart shook in fright of what was going to happen next, he was there and he knew.
