"This is an official Gym Battle! Goldenrod Gym Leader Sabrina versus Ash!"
With Mr. Fuji acting as referee, Ash and Sabrina's Gym Battle commenced.
"Since it's you, Ash, I won't hold back. Kadabra!"
Sabrina threw her Poké Ball, summoning her Kadabra.
"Kadabra!"
"So it's Kadabra again. Let's see how much you've grown. Go, Beedrill!"
"Buzz!"
Beedrill hovered midair, locking eyes with Kadabra. It already knew from Ash that this Kadabra had once been under his care. As Ash's Pokémon, Beedrill understood that any creature trained by Ash couldn't be underestimated. Sabrina, observing Beedrill, narrowed her eyes. "Seems I'll need to take this more seriously." Her eyes glowed crimson as Kadabra erupted in evolution light.
"Beedrill... be cautious. I personally trained this Kadabra when it was still an Abra. Now that it's evolved into Alakazam, the difficulty has skyrocketed."
"Buzz!"
Beedrill nodded in acknowledgment. Meanwhile, Kadabra completed its evolution, transforming into the spoon-wielding Alakazam.
"Alakazam!"
"Beedrill, use Double Team followed by Twineedle Attack!"
"Buzz!"
At Ash's command, Beedrill instantly created clones while launching a barrage of Pin Missiles toward Alakazam. Ash's Pokémon, honed through rigorous training, instinctively optimized their tactics without relying solely on commands—a necessity to avoid predictability. Sabrina, familiar with Ash's style, had already prepared defenses against such ambushes.
"Intercept by manipulating rocks with Psychic!"
"Alakazam!"
Alakazam's telekinesis hurled boulders skyward to block the attack, but the rocks shattered instantly upon contact with the missiles.
"Teleport to evade, then use Calm Mind!"
"Alakazam!"
Alakazam vanished to dodge the remaining projectiles, reappearing safely. Beedrill, however, lunged forward with its stingers poised.
"Too late to dodge—use Psycho Cut!"
"Counter with Agility!"
A psychic blade materialized from Alakazam's spoons, slashing toward Beedrill. The attack narrowly missed as Beedrill accelerated into a blur. Ash frowned at the gouge left by Psycho Cut—a direct hit would have devastated Beedrill's Poison-typed body. "End this quickly!"
"Beedrill! Full power! Sabrina, witness this—Bond Evolution through unity of heart and soul!"
Radiant light engulfed Ash and Beedrill. Under the stunned gazes of Sabrina, Alakazam, and Sabrina's father Naji, Beedrill underwent a second evolution. Its form grew more lethal: three stingers multiplied to five, each shimmering with violet venom.
Ash addressed the newly evolved Mega Beedrill. "Finish this. Vampire Fang!"
"Buzz!"
Mega Beedrill's eyes flashed crimson. In a blink, it materialized behind Alakazam. After a frozen moment, Alakazam collapsed, eyes spiraling.
"Battle concluded! The victor is Ash!"
Sabrina smiled faintly at her fallen Alakazam. "You fought well. Return."
After recalling her Pokémon, she studied Mega Beedrill. "Is this your trump card? Impressive. The Goldenrod Badge is yours."
"Correct. This power symbolizes the bond between Beedrill and me." Ash patted Mega Beedrill, accepting the badge as it reverted to its base form.
Sabrina glanced at Pikachu, Meowth, and Chansey. "Can they all do this?"
"Naturally. Though Pikachu and Meowth's forms are... unique. Let's regroup with Elesa and the others now. No turning them into dolls, okay?"
"I'm not that tyrannical!" Sabrina huffed.
