Cherreads

Chapter 25 - [24]Trying to get better, I think?

After Angel gathered her freshly done laundry, it was now time to neatly fold them. It wasn't hard, really, but it was still a tedious task. That's why chores are called as such—easy, yet so tedious.

「In any case, I wonder what I should do tomorrow?」

There was already no need to answer. Angel knew she'd be cooped up in her room, playing video games or doing something naughty...

But still, it's not wrong to ask herself, right?

It took another 30 minutes to get all her laundry nice and folded—no creases, because she totally forgot to mention that she ironed them too!

"Well! Since I'm done with this, what else can I do?"

Angel looked around. The living room was clean as is, the dishes had been washed, and—well, rather—she didn't even use any plates or utensils, so that was out of the question. What's left is...

「I suppose I should get into writing?」

Indeed, many chapters in, and yet, she hadn't even tried very hard to write a synopsis, or heck, even a title.

Oh, and there was also Maria, who invited her to eat out.

So while there was still time, Angel figured it'd be a great chance to make some progress...

「Right, light novel, right.」

Angel got serious. At this rate, her readers would be bored of her daily life. She had to step up her game!

She gently slapped her cheeks with both hands, hyping herself up.

"I can do this!"

She brought out her phone—again—and opened her notepad app.

"For the title, I want it to be something personal..."

Shiro murmured in her head that she was terrible at picking names.

"I know... how about this?"

『Turned Into a Beautiful Girl in the Philippines?! My New Life as a Shut-In NEET and Aspiring Writer!』

Angel looked at the title and nodded. It was beautiful.

She saved it.

"Now for the synopsis..."

Angel racked her brain and, after about an hour and a half, finally came up with something decent.

"Done."

She glanced at the synopsis—it basically boiled down to having some weird dream about a woman talking about a gift... then waking up as a cute girl.

Yep, that sounded about right!

Angel was content with her progress so far. But she was too lazy to continue further.

"Now that that's done... Amma play some video games."

As always, after doing something that required effort, Angel went straight back to gaming.

There was just something about the instant gratification that pulled her in, y'know?

She made her way to her room.

Opened her PC.

Cracked her fingers.

Tilted her head left and right.

"It's go time."

Angel went on a gaming spree.

Time passed. Before she knew it, it was 5 PM.

She stood up, a smug expression on her face.

"That was fun!"

She vocalized her thoughts.

Time had completely flown by.

Yet despite the deep feeling of accomplishment, there was this void lingering deep inside her heart.

It had always been like this—everything she did felt incomplete.

It wasn't even a problem of spirituality or anything like that.

「I wonder what else I can do?」

Chores?

Gaming?

Writing?

All of that wasn't new. That was part of her routine. And anything that becomes routine... gets boring. Gets stale. Feels like a job.

Angel looked out the window from her room, watching the neighborhood come to life.

Kids playing tag. Neighbors gossiping about the latest political drama.

She wanted to do something different. She wanted to improve herself. But at the same time... thinking about it was tedious. Doing it was even worse.

「Perhaps the best way to go about it... is to go out. With Maria.」

Angel pouted.

The idea of going outside. For something social. Ugh! Annoying.

She never thought she needed to improve her personality. She was fine as she was. She was complete. She was satisfied with who she was.

And yet—again—her life was getting stale.

Turning into a girl had been a brief change. But now that she had done what she thought could be done, she was at an impasse.

So maybe... the best way to improve herself? Was to go outside.

Angel let out a long sigh.

"I'll have to chat with Maria tomorrow. Personally."

Angel decided

Maria's house wasn't far—she could just come over.

And yet, somehow, Angel couldn't shake the feeling that what she was about to do... might actually change her life in some way.
