Lily's POV
The Prince came in sometime later and I pretended.... Or at least I tried to pretend to be asleep
"I know you're awake, so drop the act. Why didn't you eat?!" He asked. Well that was straightforward
"Because I'm nt hungry! I told you that earlier" I said stubbornly
"And I told you it isn't an option, eat or I'll have to make you eat" he said and honestly, it sounded like a threat
"And... How are you going to do that?" I asked
"Trust me. You don't want to know" he said in his familiar icy tone
"Has anybody ever told you that you can have a proper conversation without being so... I dunno. Cold!" I blurted out. Why On Earth Did I Say That?!
"Excuse Me?!" He said, and I wasn't sure if it was out of surprise or anger
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so direct. It just slipped out....." I tried to explain
"No. It's fine actually. You're one of the few people who acknowledge that. And I'm sorry about it. I'm still working on myself. I'm Adrian by the way" he said
"I kinda already figured that out. So, you're a prince huh?" I asked
"Well... Yeah. But it's not all rosy in paradise though. And you?"
"Lily. And I'm your average naive girl" I introduced
"Ha Ha, Very funny" he said sarcastically
"No. I'm serious, this is my first time in.... Well, in anywhere other than a forest" I said
"Is that why you were hiding your real appearance?" He asked
"What?!"
"Your hair, it's strawberry blonde. But you were wearing a blonde wig" he said, and that was when I realized my actual hair was out
"Oh, that. Well.... My tutor, who I came out with yesterday, asked me to wear it" I said
"Oh. About that..... You've actually been unconscious for three days now" he said
"Wait, what?! Oh no! I'm done for! Mom's gonna kill me..."
"Calm down. I'll take you home tomorrow after the royal physician checks up on you. Besides, this.... Tutor of yours. What does he/she teach you?" He asked
"The Art of the Sword" I said proudly
"Wait what?! That's impossible! You're a girl. Plus, only royals learn...."
"I'm not lying. He does teach me the art of the sword" I said confidently
"Fine, I'll give you the benefit of doubt. But only because you need bed rest. In the meantime, you need to eat something" he said and I frowned
"I thought we dropped the eating topic" I said, but he ignored me and jingled a bell, summoning a maid to bring lunch for both of us. But while I ate, I noticed his gaze on me
"Um.... Can you stop looking at me like that? It's making me uncomfortable" I said
"Oh, sorry. It's just, your handling of the cutleries are.... Well... Not common among non royals" he said and I was a bit confused
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Well, it's just..... I've never seen a non royal using cutleries with ease" he said
"Oh, well. As a kid, my mom always taught me how to 'Be a Proper Young Lady' 'Presentable and Refined' I learnt etiquette, geography, politics, arts. And some other junk of boring stuff. It was quite ironic though, given the fact that we literally live in a forest" I said
"Woah, that's... Intense" he said
Soon, the Royal physician came in and examined me
"She's in perfect condition now, Your Highness. It would be safe for her to walk around and do minor tasks" he said
"Thank You. And remember. Do not tell my parents about this" Adrian said
"Off course your Highness. My lips are sealed" he bowed before leaving
