The battle had turned into a desperate struggle.
Elric and Vaelen fought tooth and nail, but Orpheon and Samael remained relentless, pressing them further into the defensive.
Samael's gold-etched sword came down in a deadly arc, forcing Elric to twist aside, barely dodging the lethal strike. But before he could counter, an undead soldier grabbed his ankle, yanking him backward.
Another corpse lunged at him from behind.
Elric reacted instantly, spinning his trident and slashing through both creatures—but as he struck them down, Orpheon's voice cut through the air like a sonic blade.
BOOM!
A focused shockwave slammed into Elric's ribs, sending him hurtling across the battlefield. He hit the ground hard, rolling over broken stone and debris, blood spraying from his lips.
"Elric!" Vaelen shouted, but she had no time to help.
Orpheon was already closing in on her.
