The cold afternoon air hung heavy outside the towering walls of Metreon Star, where the ruins of an ancient settlement lay bathed in the soft glow of the early stars. Crumbling stone pillars stood like silent sentinels, their surfaces worn by time and weather. The remnants of forgotten dwellings stretched across the desolate landscape, whispering echoes of the past.
Among the ruins, Wulf and Isolde moved cautiously, their eyes scanning the remnants of a recently abandoned campfire. The embers were still warm, a faint wisp of smoke curling into the sky—a clear sign that someone had been here not long ago.
Wulf knelt by the fire, running his fingers through the cooled ashes. "Someone camped here recently. Maybe within the last few hours."
Isolde crossed her arms, eyes narrowing as she surveyed the surroundings. "But how? We've been tracking this place all the time. There's only one way in or out, and we would've seen them. No one passed us."
