Chapter 43 - Chapter 43:

Xia Weiwei and Mo Shian ignored Xinya and her friends and got into the elevator. The cinema was on the fourth floor so Mo Shian pressed the button for the fourth floor and the doors closed.

They were still holding hands even in the elevator. "Don't care about that woman anymore. You shouldn't be upset because of people who don't matter." Mo Shian thought Xia Weiwei was angry with Xia Xinya and comforted her.

"Am not angry at her, am angry at myself. How could I not have realized that she was such a white lotus before? Pretending to be innocent when her smiles hid a knife."

"You can't blame yourself, you see the best in people. That's why you never doubted her."

Walking out of the elevator, the two walked to the ticket counter and joined the queue. There were quite a number of people waiting. Weiwei was almost bouncing on her heels in excitement. This was their first movie together since they got married. Even in her previous life, they never watched a movie. This was a new experience.

After getting the tickets they walked to the stalls selling popcorn and soda and got a big bucket of popcorn and large coke.

"How many should we get?" Mo Shian asked as he pulled out his wallet to pay.

"Just one of each, we can share." Mo Shian liked the idea of sharing a coke will his little wife. He was happy that she had stopped treating him as a plaque and was even suggesting drinking from the same cup. He couldn't wait for her period to end.

With their tickets and snacks in hand, they entered the dimly lit theater, choosing seats near the center. It wasn't long after sitting down that the movie started.

They had actually chosen an action movie. Mo Shian wasn't a big fun of any genre while Weiwei loves action. So, it was an action-packed where the opening scene grabbed everyone's attention. Weiwei was engrossed instantly, while Mo Shian stole occasional glances at her, watching her expressions shift from laughter to shock to anticipation and excitement. Mo Shian never knew she had such a rich range of expressions. It was amusing.

Midway through, Weiwei moved closer to Mo Shian and whispered, "You're watching me more than the movie."

Mo Shian chuckled a little, not even trying to deny it. "You're more interesting than any movie."

Xia Weiwei smiled as warmth spread through her chest. She liked this experience. As the final scene played and the credits started rolling, the two remained seated.

Weiwei knew that Mo Shian didn't like crowds. Sitting in the theater was already his limit so she didn't make him squeeze with others when leaving. They waited until the cinema hall was empty before standing up to walk out. Weiwei linked her hand around Mo Shian's arm as they left. She had a smile on her face and Mo Shian was over the moon.

"That was a great movie." She commented.

"Mmm…sitting through two hours of explosions didn't feel bad at all."

Hearing Mo Shian's comment, Weiwei wanted to laugh but held it in. To him, an action movie is actually simply explosions.

They stepped out into the night, the city lights twinkling around them. Their driver was already at the door of the mall. They got into the car both feeling contented for the progress they made.

The drive home was quiet, the kind of comfortable silence that settled between two people who didn't need to fill every moment with words. But Mo Shian held Weiwei's hand throughout the ride.

When the car pulled up to their driveway, Mo Shian got out first and circled around the car to the other side and opened the door for Weiwei like a gentleman. Both held hands and walked into their villa.

Aunt Wu had just finished brewing tea and asked them to have a cup so they could relax a little before going upstairs to take a shower.

Weiwei kicked her heels and stretched her toes before turning around to find her slippers only to find them beside her feet. Mo Shian had already placed them next to her.

"Thanks hubby." She said with a smile as she put on her slippers and moved to the couch to drink tea.

"There is no need for thanks between us. It's only right I do this." Mo Shian replied as he too put on his slippers and joined her on the sofa.

"Tired?" Mo Shian asked as he noted that Weiwei looked weary.

"Yeah."

He bent down and picked up she feet, putting them on his lap then started to massage her. Weiwei was startled by his actions and attempted to pull her feet back, but Mo Shian held them in place.

"Let me give a massage, it will reduce the fatigue and help you sleep better. When you take a bath make the water slightly hot. It will wash away all the fatigue."

"Okay, I will listen to you." What else could Xia Weiwei do when her husband was being so considerate? She could only accept it and strive to be a better wife.
