"Kamihane!!!" Kagami's Sharingan bled crimson rage. "This is how you treat your own kin?!"

"I never imagined… you'd sink this low!"

Behind him, young Uchiha huddled like quail chicks in a storm. Chuunin cowered on hands and knees, paralyzed by terror.

Kagami ignored them. Vermilion flames engulfed his blade as he lunged –

"Uchiha Style: Blazing Severance!"

End this. One strike. Just one.

Kamihane watched dispassionately – no, studied Kagami's eyes. Only when his brother closed the gap did he draw.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Kagami's palms split. His blade shattered mid-swing. Through the Sharingan's slowed vision, fractures spiderwebbed the steel. Shards grazed his ears with glassine shrieks.

Faster than ocular capture, Kamihane's blade-tip pricked Kagami's forehead. A bead of blood bloomed. Cold steel's kiss restored clarity – he'd been read like an open scroll.

One thrust would end it.

Kagami recoiled –

WHOOM!

Makora's colossal fist cratered the earth, burying him chest-deep. Dust plumed as the bone arm withdrew.

Kamihane loomed above, Mangekyō patterns swirling like molten glass. "Low?" His laugh chilled the air. "You grovel before Hashirama's dog. Lecture me about honor?"

Kagami spat blood, ribs pulverized yet defiant: "You betrayed the clan!"

"Delusional."

Kamihane angled Shimotsuki no Isshin. The blade's mirror surface split his visage – one half serene youth, the other a Susano'o demon-mask wreathed in slaughter's aura. "I am Uchiha's truth. You… are shadows."

Kagami's Sharingan dilated. No genjutsu, yet carnage's weight crushed his spirit.

Across the field, Shisui trembled. Not from fear – ecstasy. His pulse hammered wild drums. Sweat beaded his upper lip as he drank in Kamihane's majesty. This… This is how Madara-sama must have…

Kamihane sheathed his blade, skeletal armor dissolving. "Know why you're weak?"

Kagami lifted dazed eyes.

"You lack hatred." Kamihane's voice dropped to winter's edge. "Seethe, foolish brother. Your power sleeps behind those borrowed eyes."

He turned, calling over his shoulder: "Tell that Senju lapdog – sharpen his neck. I'll collect it when boredom strikes."

With a crouch, he vanished skyward – leaving only bloodstained philosophy hanging heavy in the air.

"BANG!"

Kamihane vanished, leaving a shockwave crater. A streak pierced the clouds above, concentric sonic booms rippling behind.

Shisui stood frozen until Kagami's labored voice broke through:

"Shisui? Shisui!"

He blinked. "Ah?"

Kagami dragged himself from the pit, wincing at shattered ribs. "First time… facing those eyes… normal to freeze. I… wet myself… back then."

"What?"

Kagami slumped against rubble, bitter laughter mixing with blood. "Mission… total failure."

In his eyes, despair pooled deep as abyssal waters.

"Hate… huh?"

——

With Baki's guidance, Kamihane located the Shinobi Bridge.

Now, man and cat plummeted from stratospheric heights toward their hidden base. His travel method resembled a ballistics missile – each titanic leap crossing miles in seconds.

"Won't this wreck the base?" Baki clung to his collar, whiskers flattened by gale-force winds.

"Watch."

Kamihane exhaled slowly. Chakra geysered from his back, crystallizing into enormous ice-blue wings resembling stained glass. Each feather shimmered with precise chakra control.

The wings caught air, transforming deadly descent into graceful glide. They touched down softer than autumn leaf.

"Dismissed." Kamihane tossed a coin pouch. Baki vanished mid-bow, grinning.

Stone doors ground open –

A petite fist rocketed toward his face.

Kamihane caught the wrist, pivoting. Hikari Uchiha blurred past in whirl of floral perfume.

"Charming welcome, Hikari." He stepped inside.

Whoosh!

Her high roundhouse kick aimed at his temple. Kamihane smiled, deflecting the strike with palm to ankle.

"Making Lord Madara worry!" Hikari pressed the attack – jabs at his third eye, palm strikes toward solar plexus, knee thrusts targeting floating ribs. Her hands became twin blurs, afterimages layering the air.

Yet Kamihane moved simpler.

Single hand behind his back, the other wove impervious defense. Every strike halted inches from target, impact thuds merging into continuous drumroll.

Abruptly, Hikari's eyes widened. She tried recoiling –

Too late.

Kamihane's hand phased through illusions, seizing her collar. With effortless flick, he launched her across the chamber.

"Enough."

Hikari pirouetted midair, alighting spider-like on ceiling beams. Raven hair cascaded as she glared down.

"Scared?" She taunted, voice honeyed with mockery.

Kamihane spread his hands. "Using the taijutsu I taught you against me? No shame in losing..."

"Hmph. I'll defeat you someday." Hikari alighted gracefully, chin tilted defiantly as she avoided his gaze.

"Sure, sure..." Kamihane raised his hands in mock surrender before entering the stone chamber. "Lord Madara's condition?"

"..." Hikari crossed her arms, expression twisting oddly. "You two... this mutual trust is absurd. He never doubted your survival. You never question his revival."

"Oh?" Kamihane tilted his head. "Call it... masculine intuition."

Hikari's nose wrinkled. "Yeah right."
