Chapter 9 - Black Death

In my previous world, when I decided to end my life, there were no attachments I had left to that world. That made my choice easier. That should be the same case with this world. After all, I've only spent a few months here. But then, you made me attached to you. I thought that it'll be alright. So why. Why did you make me attached then leave me like that.

Its been a while since the rogue hero appeared. We still didn't make a move on each other. I couldn't handle it and decided to be the first one. My blade appeared in my arm and I charged at her to strike first. She easily dodged and struck back at me. That's how we began.

She leaped back and stretched her hands out. Then she clapped her hands and twin aura blades came at me from both sides. I dodged making them cut down trees in a wide area. From then on, it was a continuous exchange of physical attacks.

Every blow I made was countered with one of equal force. It wasn't working. So I began to use my skills. Copy. This made nine more images of myself. Ten of us. Each going to her with its own attack. Some used basic magic, while the rest went physical. While I was at the back, charging my attack.

She got rid of all copies, leaving only me. But my attack was at full power. A massive ball of energy which was to take both of us out. From far, a huge explosion was heard. Trees fell, the ground shook and dust covered the area.

When I discovered that someone wants me alive, I tested it with the attack from Nephilim as we faced each other. It hit me head on. I had no defensive magic put up. It was just me. And when it hit, my theory was proven. I took no damage even without making an effort. My conclusion... I can't die. Then I'll use this to my advantage.

The dust settled. I emerged unharmed and looked for her. Then I saw her, standing opposite of me, without any scratches. Even after using growth three times before the fight, she was at around the same level as me. Maybe stronger. I decided that it wasn't the time for evaluating my opponents capabilities. I decided to use my eye.

I took of the eye patch and opened it. Then my aura increased by three times. It could be felt from all over. Even the lords felt it. A different one from the hero's.

"Is this our master's aura?" Nirvana asked.

"Looks like he never battled any of us seriously." Nephilim said as he smiled shamefully. "Are we that weak?"

Giselle and the others just stared at the direction where the fight is without saying a word.

The hero's expression didn't change as she watched me and thought, 'Is this all you can do, Heaven's favored? If so, then you haven't realized what you are. Which makes it even easier to kill you.'

In the Empire's castle, a letter appeared in front of the emperor through magic. He grabbed it and saw that it has a black seal.

In the continent, sending letters using a black seal usually means that an event is about to happen that will affect the entire continent. It can range from something as trivial as a banquet of world leaders, to the appearance of a demon lord. He hoped that it wasn't the latter as he opened the letter and began reading.

Then he closed it. Sure enough, it was about the appearance of a demon lord. Foretold by a captured demon. Before he started thinking about it, another letter appeared, baring the same seal. He opened it and its details shocked him. He couldn't believe what he saw.

Back at the fight, only skills were being used. From the most basic of magic attacks, to the most complex. Nothing. We were still equal to each other. I decided to use more powerful skills.

Then I used Angel's eye on her while I was in the sky. The attack landed on her shaking the ground. Rocks melted. Trees instantly turned to ash. A hot shockwave travelled for miles from there. Once everything settled, I waited to see what will happen. I made the right call by not letting my guard down. She appeared from the center of where the attack hit. Though she looked bruised, it was still too little when compared to what I just unleashed.

Then I noticed something, in her hand. A mana sword. She took deep breaths and thought, 'This isn't good. His attacks are getting more and more powerful. I underestimated him. I won't do that again.' Then she raised the sword while holding it with both hands.

"Oh goddess above, she who is at the top of all creation. Lend me your power, and smite my enemy. Its been 400 years since I used this attack to kill the Monarch Beast. Not even he could survive it. Lets see how you fair... Death slayer." Then she swung her sword down.

It looked like reality itself broke. The world lost its color. I couldn't understand what was happening. Everything looked black and white. Then I felt like my body was being ripped apart. When I looked to my left and right, I saw two big arms, grabbing my shoulders and pulling them apart. It felt like my bones were separating.

Then a powerful energy came from the sword and split everything from where we were to the very horizon. A huge crack appeared on the world. It continued and went all the way to the ocean and ended as soon as it touched the water.

The effects of that attack could be felt from far. Wild monsters and other creatures in the forest began to flee from the area. This included a large multitude of flying monsters that went towards the east, where there was human civilization.

Meanwhile, in the holy Kingdom.

The high Priest asked if they were able to confirm him. The one he asked replied with a positive answer.

"His name... Is... Nerezza Vingar. Another Worlder."

"How were you able to confirm he is from another world?" The high priest asked.

"He appeared at around the same time with the foretold heroes of the next generation. He's also a class unknown as seen in his guild registration."

"Right. Only heavenly beings or other worlders could possess such a class." He sighed. "I hope that hero will kill him. If she fails, then all of mankind may be at risk. The Heaven's Favored cannot be allowed to see another day."

Everything settled. The forest does not look like it used to. Craters, fallen and burnt trees, a giant crack in the ground. It looked like the aftermath of a battle between gods.

The final attack that the hero released consumed up to half her mana. Only one other skill in her arsenal could do that. And yet. There I was. Standing still like nothing happened. I did feel like I was cut into two, but I was still alive. I couldn't let her unleash such an attack again. I had to be quick. I lifted up my head to face her.

"Cursed Petrification." Then everything turned into rocks. Whether, grass or trees. They turned into stone with a huge amount of force. Rock crystals appeared and headed straight for the hero. She turned into stone. Then I closed my eye for the skill to stop.

Everything that turned didn't move. I was sure that it was the final attack to finish the fight. So I walked up to her to take a closer look and confirm. I was very keen to ensure that there was no movement. Then I attacked it with magic hoping that it'll break. But she appeared instead. Though looking lifeless, the stone on her came off.

Then she jumped me. Not knowing what she was going to do, I grabbed her hands. But then, she kissed me. This rattled my brain a little, as I wondered what was going on. Then I felt something go into my mouth. Like a ball. It was glowing white and was so bright, you could see it through my cheeks.

She jumped back. I tried to spit it out but my mouth wouldn't open. I used my hands to try to force open it but still didn't open. For some reason, an overwhelming sensation of fear came to me. This made me use my hands to try and claw my way through my mouth by ripping the sides. All of this happened as the hero watched and laughed.

Then there was an absolutely huge explosion. so big that the hills close by crumbled to its force. The bright light from the explosion blinded the others who watched from a distance. It was so big that even the clouds above parted due to its force.

That was the hero's final attack. It was so powerful that it drained all her mana. In this world, there's no such skill as mana regeneration. At least, not according to the humans. So when their mana depletes, it stays that way for a long time until it all comes back naturally.

She was sure that it must've killed me. So sure that she even sat down to take a break. But I was still standing. Not dead. My entire mouth had nothing. No skin, no blood. Only bones. It was painful. The most amount of pain I have ever felt since I came to this world. I tried healing, but no healing skill worked on me.

I used growth then tried again but to no avail. I used growth again, and again, and again. It wasn't walking. Instead, I felt pain from elsewhere. Where my left eye was. The socket opened up and black mana came from it. It was painful. I couldn't handle it. I tried to cover my eye as the mana was coming out.

Then I looked up and screamed in pain as the mana came from my mouth, nose and even ears. Then my entire body was covered in it. The hero couldn't believe her eyes. Never did she think she would get to be so close to it.

My body looked like it was covered in black and had some blue lines running across. Half of my face was covered, leaving only the mouth. All the teeth in my jaw were visible. My height grew to about eight feet. Then I yelled so loudly that a shockwave came from me. The wave travelled like fast moving winds that went so far it hit the continent level Heaven's Tower in the sea. Next to it, it looked like an invisible wall appeared that reacted when the wave collided with it.

"Impossible." The hero said with a shocked expression. "How could black death take your body. Does it know who you really are?"

I stopped yelling and looked at the hero. Then I used a skill called 'one step' which makes you appear anywhere you look at when you take one step. I came directly in front of the hero then looked down on her. She didn't move. I wasn't in control of my body. 'Its going to kill me.' She thought. 'Wait, no. It only attacks a moving shadow. If I don't move, it'll be alright.

Beneath the continent level Heaven's Tower in the ocean, there is an area. A place where it looked like an arena underwater. A large group of sea monsters were watching the fight between two in the ring. One looked like a giant underwater snake while the other looked like a human sized mantis shrimp.

The snake one surrounded the shrimp and tried to squeeze it to death. But it was punched in the body and a few bones broke. It was a quick fight which the shrimp won. The crowd cheered for him while a man was watching. He looked like stones were brought together in the shape of a man and came to life. He had an earring on his right ear but couldn't be read. He sat on a throne which, all of a sudden, glowed a bright golden.

Two massive fish appeared in the ring and tore the snake which lost the fight into pieces. They only had two fins, at the top and bottom and also had big eyes. The man seated on the throne signaled them to go. Then they left at incredibly high speeds.

They came close to the surface and their large dorsal fins popped out. They swam to the land without slowing down until they got to a beach, where they continued swimming in land like they would do in water until they got to where we were.

The hero immediately recognized them as Devil fish. They began going around us in circles. She took this opportunity to flee, knowing that she can't beat black death. As the fish went around, a platform appeared beneath me. Made of Euracknium. My feet were stuck. A Heaven's Tower was about to fall on me. I still wasn't in control of my body.

It was an army level, relatively small but still able to do catastrophic damages. I was able to remove my feet from the ground and flew at the falling tower. Then I grabbed it and literally pushed it back into heaven. The fish went away and I was left there alone when I came back down.

Whoever took control of my body looked at it curiously. But at that time, Giselle came running towards me and saw my appearance. She was completely shocked by what she saw. Her shadow moved as she came and was sensed by the black death. It turned to her and stretched out its hand. A small golden eye appeared. She hid behind a tree then a beam of energy that felt more powerful than any other time came from my hand towards her directions.

"This is the one." A male voice in my head said. "This is the perfect one that suits my needs. I can finally get back at them."

"Who said that you could just take my body like that?" I told him. He wondered how I did that. Then all of a sudden, all that black mana came out of me and became a small blue ball. "What made you think that you could just take over the body of someone who can make any skill he wants." Then I squeezed the ball of light until it exploded.

But doing that made me use all my mana. Whatever it was, it took me a lot of mana to get rid of it. Then I collapsed to the ground as Giselle rushed towards me. My eyes closed.

A few minutes ago, when black death took over my body and a shockwave came from me, the wave travelled to the invisible walls next to the tower and went beyond.

On a cliff's edge, a girl with short purple hair sat on it. She was using the skill that depleted the hero's mana. Small white balls of energy appeared in her hands as she threw them one by one. Each made a huge explosion of equal level to the last one the hero did. She had an earring on her left ear. On the earring was a character meaning Death.

"I don't get. This is supposed to deplete half of my mana with each one, I've been doing this for so long and yet, not even 10% has been used. Its boring." Then a gust of wind came to her. She stopped and smiled. "You finally found a body, black." But that smile turned into rage quickly. "What? You died?" Then she angrily grunted and threw the remaining energy balls at once that destroyed absolutely everything. She then teleported.

Elsewhere, on a beach, a girl with beautiful silky blue hair was walking. She had ears that looked like fins and an earring on her left one which also had the death character on it. As she walked, a huge wave of water was rushing towards her. But she only calmy watched it, then clapped her hands while facing it and all the water went back much further than it should be.

A monster appeared as the water rushed back and stopped behind it. It was huge and looked like a giant monster with a human like physic and tentacles all over. The monster tried to approach her but was caught in strings that came from the water. Then she brought together a finger and a thumb and quickly pulled them back. Then the strings tightened and the monster was cut into pieces.

As the water was going back to its original state, she felt a gust of wind. Then she looked up with a calm expression and teleported.

In a beautiful private mansion, there was another girl, dressed in all white, had white hair and elf like ears. she also had the same earring on her left ear. Her eyes never opened. She sat down at the balcony as she enjoyed tea. There were too servants behind her. One was extremely tired of standing there for too long and thought, 'Does she even realize how tired we are of just standing here.'

"If you're so tired then seat." She said to the servant. "No one stopped you." The servant was completely shocked that she knew what she thought.

"P... Please forgive me, my lady. I... I didn't mean to offend you..." As she spoke, they both felt a huge amount of aura appear all of a sudden. Then they bowed. The girl with purple hair appeared and immediately started complaining.

"Hey. Do you know that black died?"

"Do you care about that?"

"That's not it. What I care about is the fact he was killed like three minutes after occupying a body. He ruined the name of the Deaths." Then the girl with blue hair appeared. She greeted the one seated referring to her as master then continued.

"I can also confirm that black was just killed."

"That weak little pathetic excuse of a death. Or is it pink that killed him?" Purple said.

"Now now. Don't blame me for something I didn't do." Another girl appeared. She had pink hair and wore pink robes. She also had the earring on her left ear. Her eyes were also kept closed the entire time. The servants were shocked that all four of them appeared at the same time. She continued. "Even if he was killed, we all know that it won't make a difference on the real black death." They all agreed.

"What are we to do now?" Blue asked.

"We wait. No one is allowed to do anything until he says otherwise." The one seated told them all. They all agreed to follow the order.

In a dark palace, there was a man running towards the throne room. He got in and knelt down before the one on the throne.

"My lord, it has been confirmed that..."

"I know. Black death died in the southern continent. no one is allowed to do a thing. Let's see what will happen next." The man said. He had red hair and two earrings, one on both ears. On the left, it said Death. On the right, Primordial.

'So the Heaven's Favored has finally appeared. The prophecy foretold after the falling is finally coming true. All other events from now on will be spectacular.' He thought with a smile.

In a city that looked like modern day Tokyo, a man was walking along the street. He wore a suit and had long pretty red hair. He had two earrings, on his right was Primordial while on his left, Death Slayer. Girls who walked next to him admired his beauty. Then suddenly, there was a gust of wind that left people confused by how strong it was. But the man only stared in the sky with a focused expression.

In an area that looks like a desert, there was a man walking with robes covering his entire face. Then he felt the wind change direction. He looked back at where it came from. When he did so his earrings were revealed from the robes on his face. On the left was Death. On the right, Deity.
