Upon entering the Safari Zone, the first thing you notice is a patch of green grass, with many Pokémon roaming around.
These Pokémon noticed Gary and Sabrina but seemed indifferent to their presence.
The Safari Zone has existed for many years, and the Pokémon living here are familiar with its rules.
If a Pokémon wants to go with a Trainer, it doesn't need to struggle; it just needs to be captured by a Poké Ball.
In fact, most Pokémon in the Safari Zone hope to be captured. People who come here to capture Pokémon usually have some wealth, and following humans means good food and care.
Over time, these Pokémon have become quite smart, developing the ability to read expressions and determine who looks wealthy and who doesn't.
Generally, the Pokémon here are not fond of Trainers because Trainers use Pokémon for battles.
Although Pokémon can fight, it doesn't mean they enjoy it, as battles can lead to injuries.
Gary and Sabrina, dressed like Trainers, did not receive a warm welcome from the Pokémon.
"Moo~!"
"Moo!"
"Moo...!"
The mooing continued all day, and the ground began to shake. A herd of Tauros appeared in the distance, running wildly across the grass.
"Oh! Tauros," Gary exclaimed, surprised to encounter Tauros so soon after entering the Safari Zone.
In the first version, Tauros with the Intimidate Ability was a powerhouse because there was no distinction between physical and special attacks in the first generation, and Intimidate was a top-level Ability.
Additionally, Tauros had a Speed stat of 110 and an Attack stat of 100, which were excellent values in the first version.
"Moo...!"
The Tauros, upon seeing Gary and Sabrina, showed no intention of stopping and continued charging forward.
Gary and Sabrina quickly stepped aside. As they passed, the Tauros glanced at them with a hint of expectation in their eyes.
However, they continued running straight ahead.
"These Tauros were looking at us just now. Did you see that, Sabrina?" Gary asked.
"Yes, they want to be captured by us," Sabrina replied.
Gary was taken aback. He knew some Pokémon here wanted to be captured, but he didn't expect the Tauros to be so proactive.
Reflecting on it, every time Ash tried to capture other Pokémon, these Tauros would rush over and block Ash's Safari Ball.
It was no coincidence the Tauros did it on purpose.
It seems Ash was able to capture 30 Tauros because they wanted to be captured, so they kept lingering around him.
"We need to be careful when capturing Pokémon," Gary reminded.
These Tauros were left for Ash to capture, as Gary had no interest in them.
Gary and Sabrina continued deeper into the grassland of the Safari Zone. It didn't take long for Gary to find his target Pokémon within just a quarter of an hour.
On the grass, an armored rhino covered in gray armor was walking, occasionally lowering its head to graze.

"Gary, look, it's a Rhyhorn," Sabrina pointed out, knowing Gary intended to capture a Rhyhorn.
"This one isn't very good," Gary shook his head slightly. A Rhyhorn with ordinary potential couldn't evolve into Rhydon and had no value as a breeder.
Rhydon can only evolve at level 42. Pokémon with normal potential can only grow to level 30 at most, and those with Quasi-gym potential can only grow to level 40, which is 2 levels short of the evolution requirement.
Sabrina didn't comment. After traveling with Gary for so long, she found his judgment of Pokémon's potential to be very accurate, almost determining a Pokémon's potential at a glance.
Sabrina attributed Gary's sharp eyesight to Professor Oak. After all, Gary grew up with Professor Oak and knew Pokémon very well.
"Let's go and talk to Rhyhorn," Gary said.
Although this Rhyhorn had low potential, it didn't mean it didn't know other Rhyhorns.
"Hello, Rhyhorn," Gary greeted.
Rhyhorn glanced at Gary, ignored him, and continued to walk slowly.
Seeing the armored rhino ignore him, Gary didn't mind. He took out two green energy cubes and placed them in front of the armored rhino.
The armored rhino stopped and looked at the energy cubes. Although it didn't know what they were, it could smell their fragrant aroma.
"Come and try it," Gary offered the energy cubes to the armored rhino.
The armored rhino wasn't shy and ate them directly, as many visitors used food to entice Pokémon for easier capture.
"Roar...!" After eating the energy cubes, the armored rhino's pupils widened. It was the first time it had tasted such delicious food.
"Do you want more?" Gary asked.
"Roar," the armored rhino nodded. Such a small amount of energy cubes wasn't enough to satisfy its appetite.
Gary gave it two more energy cubes, but it was still not enough.
"Rhyhorn, if you want more, you have to do me a favor," Gary said.
"Roar." Food can make a cow work, and the Rhyhorn's indifferent attitude disappeared, turning into eagerness.
"The favor is simple: help me meet other Rhyhorns here, and I'll give you two energy cubes for each one I meet," Gary proposed.
"Roar." The Rhyhorn thought for a moment, agreed to Gary's terms, and turned its body sideways to Gary.
"Do you mean for me to sit on you?" Gary asked.
"Roar!"
The Rhyhorn nodded.
Rhyhorns can be ridden due to their wide bodies, providing a stable ride. Many regions even hold Rhyhorn races.
Gary and Sabrina sat on the Rhyhorn.
The Rhyhorn ran at a steady pace, with almost no bumps. Its armor's edges and corners served as handles, making the ride stable.
"Moo!"
"Moo~...!"
Soon after, a group of Tauros rushed over, passing by deliberately. However, seeing Gary and Sabrina on the Rhyhorn, they showed disappointment and quickly left.
Not long after, the Rhyhorn carried Gary and Sabrina to a forest, where another Rhyhorn was present.

This Rhyhorn also had ordinary potential, and Gary wasn't interested in taming it.
"Let's find the next one," Gary said.
