Chapter 86 - Chapter 86: Forton City Gym, Warrior Boy

The next day, Gary and Sabrina arrived at the entrance of the Forton City Gym.

[Ding! Mission released: Obtain the Forton Gym Badge/Rewards: Intermediate Rare Candy x10, Signal Beam Permanent Skill Learning Device, Top-quality Silver Powder (Bug-type Skill Power Increased by 50%) x1]

The system released the mission.

The Forton Gym is led by a Bug-type Gym Leader. Judging by the rewards, this Gym Leader is quite formidable.

The two pressed the insect-shaped doorbell at the entrance.

After a moment, someone came to open the door.

"Yes! It's you!!"

The person who opened the door was a boy who seemed normal to Gary, but he was a sturdy little boy.

"You are... Samurai!!" Gary said in surprise.

The boy in front of him was none other than the Bug Catcher Samurai that Gary met when he first entered Viridian Forest.

"You are... Gary." Samurai also recognized Gary.

"Why are you here?" Gary asked in confusion.

Viridian Forest is far from Forton City, and this guy actually made it here.

"I... was defeated by the four Trainers from your Pallet Town, so I went out to train and ended up here, where I became an apprentice under the Gym Leader," Samurai explained.

After being defeated by the four Rookie Trainers from Pallet Town in a row, Samurai felt the need to improve. After being defeated by Ash, he decided to emulate the Trainers from Pallet Town and embark on a journey.

Along the way, Samurai realized his own weaknesses.

There were far more Trainers stronger than him than the four from Pallet Town, which was a hard lesson for Samurai.

Finally, when he arrived in Forton City, he learned that the Gym Leader was a Bug-type Pokémon Trainer, so Samurai decided to train under him.

"Is that so? Then please let me in. I want to challenge the Gym," Gary said.

As a Gym apprentice, Samurai knew his duty and led Gary and Sabrina into the Gym.

"My master is very strong, you have to be careful," Samurai warned.

"Really? That's something to look forward to," Gary replied confidently.

Seeing Gary so calm, Samurai didn't say much. The Gym battle later would make Gary regret it.

Samurai didn't know that Gary's current strength was far beyond what it used to be. Samurai naturally knew that Gary had become stronger, but he didn't realize just how strong Gary had become.

Soon, Samurai brought the two to the battlefield in the Gym, where a middle-aged man was sitting on a chair at the end.

"Master, someone is here to challenge the Gym," Samurai said respectfully.

"I know, you can step aside," the middle-aged man said in a deep voice.

"Yes."

Samurai immediately stepped aside to watch.

Sabrina also stepped aside, leaving the battlefield to Gary and the Gym Leader.

The Gym Leader stood up from the chair, walked to the command area, and introduced himself: "My name is Takeo, and I am the Gym Leader of Forton Gym."

Takeo? Gary glanced at the Gym's display area. Samurai also had the surname Takeo. The key point was that Takeo and Samurai looked very similar, almost like father and son.

Are you two sure there's nothing going on here?

"My name is Gary, from Pallet Town," Gary said.

"The rules of the Forton Gym are 3 vs 3. If there are no issues, we can start," Takeo said.

"No problem, we can start now."

Takeo nodded and took out a Poké Ball, throwing it.

"Go, Beedrill!"

A 1-meter-tall Beedrill appeared, its Twineedle making people shudder. If you get stabbed by this Twineedle, you're in trouble.

```
[LV30 Beedrill♂/Gym]
```

Level 30, the level can only be said to be normal, but Takeo saw that Gary was young, so the Pokémon he sent out wasn't too strong.

"Your first Gym battle, do well," Gary said to the Poké Ball in his hand, then threw it out.

"Awoo!!"

A majestic Arcanine appeared.

"What! Arcanine!!" Samurai was shocked. As an apprentice of the Forton Gym, Samurai knew that Fire-type Pokémon were very effective against his own Gym, and Arcanine was also a very rare Pokémon, which was basically impossible to catch.

Takeo was also stunned when he saw Arcanine. Owning an Arcanine indicated that Gary's background was not simple.

"Flamethrower!" Gary launched an attack directly.

Arcanine's body surged with flames, and a blazing fire gushed out of its mouth, turning into a fire dragon rushing towards Beedrill.

"Quickly rise!"

Beedrill quickly ascended to a higher altitude to avoid the flames.

However, Arcanine wouldn't give Beedrill a chance to escape. Fireballs were ejected one after another, closely following. Beedrill's speed wasn't fast, and it was hit by a fireball after dodging a few times.

"What! Beedrill was taken down in one hit," Samurai was shocked. He knew how powerful Takeo's Beedrill was, but he didn't expect it to be no match for Gary.

Beedrill was limited by its own base stats, so its strength wasn't outstanding, and it didn't have any remarkable features, but not every Beedrill was like Takeo's.

Besides, Takeo knew he was a Bug-type Gym Leader, and he didn't consider letting Beedrill learn Double Team or Agility. It would be very passive when encountering Fire Pokémon, with no chance to approach the opponent.

"This Arcanine is very strong, and normal Bug-type Pokémon are not its match," Takeo thought to himself.

After recalling the defeated Beedrill, Takeo threw the second Poké Ball.

A green shadow appeared on the field.

```
[LV35 Scyther♂/Quasi-Elite]
```

The second Pokémon sent by Takeo was Scyther. It looked quite strong, but it was a pity it hadn't evolved. If it had evolved, it would be more vulnerable to Fire skills.

"Flamethrower!" Gary ordered.

Arcanine spat flames at Scyther.

"Use Double Team after you dodge," Takeo ordered.

Scyther's wings spread out, vibrating as it dodged the flames with a flash, while creating shadow clones and quickly approaching Arcanine.

"Arcanine, use Extreme Speed!" Gary ordered.

"Ouch!!"

Arcanine took a deep breath through its nose, then quickly rushed in one direction, and there was a Scyther in front of it.

"No, use Cross Chop!" Takeo shouted.

All the Scythers made slashing movements.

Bang!!

However, the next moment, with the sound of impact, all the clones around disappeared, and Arcanine and the Scyther were seen colliding together, both being bounced away by the collision force.

But Arcanine, who had landed, sprayed out a mouthful of flames, and the Scyther, who was about to land, vibrated its wings and flew up to the sky to avoid the deadly flames.

Although Scyther is not good at flying, it doesn't mean they cannot fly; they just cannot fly for long periods.

"Flame Wheel!" Gary ordered.
