Chapter 245 - Chapter 245: Ritchie's Challenge, Triggering The Mission

An hour later.

The ship arrived at Cianwood City.

Gary and Ritchie walked to the public field next to the Pokémon Center. There were not many people at this time, and the public field was empty.

"Let's fight here."

"No problem."

The two entered the public field and stood in the command area.

It had been almost half a year since the Indigo Plateau Conference. At that time, the strength of Ritchie's Pokémon was at the gym level. After half a year, they should have grown a lot. Maybe Ritchie's Pokémon had reached the quasi-elite level.

"Then let's start. My number one Pokémon is Eevee," Gary said.

"Eevee!" Eevee rushed into the field from Gary's side.

"It's the Eevee that knows many skills." Ritchie knew that Gary's Eevee was very special and knew a lot of moves.

"Fisher, you're up!" Ritchie threw the Poké Ball.

Great!

A Fearow appeared.

[LV47 Fearow/Quasi-Elite]

This Fearow is the Spearow that Ritchie used in the game. Now it has evolved into Fearow. The level has improved a lot, but it is still behind Eevee.

"Fearow, keep your speed up and use Double Team!" Ritchie gave the order first.

Fearow immediately split into several clones to confuse Eevee, but unfortunately, this trick didn't work on Eevee.

"Double Team is good, but it doesn't work for my Eevee. Eevee, use Swift!" Gary commanded.

Eevee immediately condensed Swift, and the golden stars rushed towards Fearow in the sky, automatically targeting it. Fearow could not dodge and used Wing Attack to crush Swift, but during this period, Eevee used Thunderbolt, and a thunderbolt struck Fearow, with excellent effect.

After receiving an effective attack, Fearow was not knocked out instantly, but its condition was not very good.

"Fearow, use Aerial Ace!" Ritchie saw that keeping a distance was useless and attacked directly from the front. Fearow quickly rushed towards Eevee, but Eevee was not afraid at all and used Waterfall to meet it.

Bang!!

After the two sides collided, they both retreated in opposite directions. Although Eevee's level was very high, its light weight was Eevee's biggest weakness. When colliding with a rival, it would always be bounced away.

Although Eevee was knocked away, Fearow was not much better off, especially since the water flow created by Waterfall wet the feathers on Fearow's body, which would affect its flying ability.

"Thunderbolt!"

Eevee quickly used Thunderbolt, but Fearow dodged it with Agility.

Eevee then used Swift to chase, and Fearow used Aerial Ace to deflect all the incoming Swifts, quickly rushing towards Eevee, looking like it was going to fight.

"Fire Blast!" Gary ordered.

"Eevee!"

Eevee unleashed Fire Blast, hitting the flying Fearow.

Boom!!

A cloud of black smoke rose, and Fearow was directly blown away, falling to the ground and losing consciousness.

Gary looked at Eevee. Although Eevee can master a variety of moves, because it is a Normal-type, other attribute skills do not have attribute bonuses, which is a significant disadvantage.

If this were replaced with a Fire Pokémon of the same level as Eevee, the power of the Fire moves used would be stronger. It is estimated that two Fire skills could hit Fearow and end the battle. Eevee seemed to have a hard time fighting.

"Oh, that Eevee is so powerful; it can actually use Fire Blast."

"Yeah, it's really powerful."

At this time, a group of men in karate uniforms were watching the game outside the fence.

After all, the public field is normally used for sparring. Trainers will not send their main Pokémon to spar with each other but mainly send new Pokémon to spar.

Therefore, it is difficult to see powerful Pokémon fighting in the public field, and they are basically some small fights.

Eevee's Fire Blast is a high-powered fire skill, which naturally attracts many passersby to watch.

"Karate uniforms, apprentices of Cianwood Gym?" Gary noticed the people outside the fence. They were all wearing karate uniforms. They should all be Chuck's apprentices, but Gary felt that they were all unfamiliar, and none of them were recognized by him.

"Fisher, come back." Ritchie ignored the onlookers, took back the defeated Fearow, and then sent out his second Pokémon.

"Cruise, it's your turn!" Ritchie threw the Poké Ball.

Great!

A Pupitar covered with a hard shell and shaped like a cocoon appeared.

[LV40 Pupitar/Elite]

Gary knew that this Pupitar was captured by Ritchie after the Indigo Plateau Conference. He could only say that this guy was lucky to capture a quasi-god Pokémon.

Unfortunately, this Pupitar's potential is only Elite, so the evolution cycle will be longer. The higher the potential of the Pokémon, the faster it grows. If there is no Trainer, it may take three to five years for this Pupitar to evolve into Tyranitar.

However, Ritchie's Pupitar is only level 40, which is not good enough for Eevee to fight.

"Eevee, use Waterfall." Gary thought it was boring to fight Pupitar, so he attacked directly.

"Eevee!"

Water burst out from Eevee's body, and it quickly rushed towards Pupitar.

"Dig!" Ritchie was not going to give up so easily.

Bang! Pupitar burrowed into the ground, avoiding Eevee's attack.

"Eevee, be ready for the water to burst, and attack directly when you feel danger, and trust your instincts," Gary instructed.

Eevee nodded, and its tail lifted up. A layer of water flow covered its tail and turned into a water blade. Eevee stood up with its ears erect, sensing the surrounding situation.

"Eevee!"

Eevee quickly noticed Pupitar's action, and suddenly turned around and splashed, spinning three times in the air, and the water blade on its tail slashed at the ground.

Bang!!!

The ground collapsed, and Pupitar was about to rush out when a water blade slashed on Pupitar's body, smashing the ground into pieces. Pupitar lay in the pit, its eyes spinning in circles.

Before Pupitar evolved, it had Rock and Ground dual attributes, making it 4x weak to Water-type skills. This burst of water flow directly took Pupitar down.

"Cruise!" Ritchie didn't expect Cruise to be so weak and immediately took Cruise back to the Poké Ball.

After defeating two Pokémon in a row, Ritchie did not give up. He knew very well that Eevee was not Gary's strongest Pokémon.

"The gap is really big," Ritchie thought to himself. He felt a lot of pressure just watching Gary's game.

When he really faced Gary, the pressure was even greater, and it could be described as overwhelming.

"Zippo, please!" Ritchie decided to finish the battle and sent out his last Pokémon.

Great!

A red figure appeared on the field.
