After Fugaku left, Uchiha Nobunaga looked at his nephew. This child… without him, things would be truly troublesome. When cracks form in certain things, they are not easily repaired. Especially in my own children, who are so proud that they barely acknowledge their peers—except for their eldest brother.
"Uncle, you must have guessed what I'm thinking. We should start involving Itachi in decision-making. This is about the rise and fall of the Uchiha clan.
If Itachi goes down the wrong path, it will be a disaster for our family. We need to get him out of the police force. On one hand, he has the potential of a great leader and is an exceptional talent. The other side only extends goodwill to Konoha, but they do not want to cultivate an obedient Uchiha clan head."
At that moment, Fugaku returned. He knew that an important discussion was taking place, so he wasted no time and hurried back. This is the first time my father has allowed me to be part of such high-level discussions.
He wasn't a fool. Recently, the clan's actions had been uncharacteristic, and the elders had shown increasing deference to Itachi. There was no doubt that his elder brother played a decisive role in decision-making—especially in determining the clan's future.
My brother is truly a genius… even in politics, he understands things instinctively. If the Uchiha had one or two political masterminds, we wouldn't be as passive as we are today.
Our clan's bloodline is too strong. Most of the powerful members of our clan, myself included, do not like to use our brains for anything other than training and self-improvement. As combat specialists, that might be acceptable—but when the entire clan thinks this way, it becomes a disaster. Our leaders only think of securing political benefits while their minds are occupied with training. Few among us truly understand how to navigate these waters.
Thankfully, we have Itachi in this generation. Without him, Uchiha would be in an even worse position.
When Fugaku arrived, Uchiha Yang nodded and said, "You're just in time. I was analyzing our current situation with Uncle. Come listen—it will be useful for our next plan." He gestured for Fugaku to sit down.
Turning back to his uncle, he continued, "The Uchiha clan may appear strong, but we are walking on thin ice. Even during past periods of peace, there was always someone like Danzo watching us like a rabid dog. They have never stopped monitoring and suppressing us. The pressure had lessened temporarily, which gave us the illusion of success.
Now, however, the suppression has resumed. Thanks to our recent actions, their strategy of isolating us isn't proceeding smoothly—but that doesn't mean they won't find another way.
People are forgetful—whether they are commoners or members of other clans. If Uchiha is continually suppressed, they will forget everything we've done for the village. Instead, they will instinctively side against us. It's the simplest form of social conditioning.
Haven't the Uchiha made sacrifices for Konoha? Of course, in every generation—more than one, even. We fought in the First and Second Shinobi Wars. Other than the Senju, no clan lost more than we did.
And yet, nothing has changed. Short-term victories are just that—temporary. True victory is still far away.
Our people understand love better than anyone. We crave understanding and acceptance. Generations of Uchiha have given everything to Konoha, only to be met with exclusion, slander, and distrust.
Why?
Because of our Sharingan—our bloodline limit that gives us unmatched power. Any Uchiha who awakens the Sharingan is at least a chunin-level fighter. With two tomoe, we are jonin-level. With three tomoe, we are elite jonin. The Mangekyō Sharingan is nearly Kage-level. And beyond that… we are unstoppable.
Can you imagine a ruling class that wouldn't fear this?
They have harmed Uchiha countless times. Do you think they are not afraid of our retaliation? They fear that if we ever gain control, we will seek revenge.
If they do not suppress us, if they do not slander us, then Uchiha will inevitably take over Konoha within two generations—and once that happens, no one will be able to change it.
Because they already destroyed the only clan that could rival us—the Senju.
The Senju are gone. Without them, no one can stop Uchiha. As a single clan, we would reign supreme. They know this. That is why they come at us in numbers. That is why they unite to keep us down.
An Uchiha unrestricted by Konoha's political games, with access to the Fire Country's vast resources, Konoha's population base, and deep ninjutsu knowledge—such an Uchiha would be an unstoppable force, one that would make all enemies despair."
Uchiha Nobunaga and Fugaku both sucked in a sharp breath.
At that moment, Nobunaga, the clan head, felt as if the young man in front of him had surpassed him. This reasoning is so simple, yet I never saw it before. Decades… we Uchiha have spent generations failing to grasp this truth.
Fugaku was stunned. My brother… my brother is truly great. More than once, their father had praised Itachi as a once-in-a-generation political genius.
For years, Fugaku had questioned why the higher-ups treated them this way. What did we do wrong? How can we be accepted?
Now, with a few words, Itachi had answered everything.
We did nothing wrong. Our only crime… is being too strong.
Unless the Uchiha were reduced to a tiny, insignificant family, Konoha's leadership would never accept us.
To hell with the "Will of Fire." To hell with Jiraiya's so-called path to peace and the prophecy of the "Child of Destiny." It's all a lie.
Fugaku clenched his fists, rage burning inside him. I trusted them. I thought I could be a bridge between Uchiha and Konoha. I thought I could bring peace to both sides. I even believed myself to be the prophesied son of Uchiha.
But it was all a lie.
Jiraiya. Hiruzen. The entire village leadership. They never intended to accept us. They wanted us to destroy ourselves—and they expected me to be their tool in that plan.
When Yang saw that Fugaku had awakened his three-tomoe Sharingan and was visibly shaking, he paused. What's with this guy? I haven't even gotten to the real part yet.
"Brother, are you okay? Maybe you should step outside and get some air. This might be too much for you—"
Before he could finish, Nobunaga interrupted.
"No need! Let him stay. The truth is harsh, but it's better to be awake than to live in ignorance."
"Exactly," Fugaku agreed. His red eyes glowed with determination. "Brother, keep going."
Yang looked between the two of them, confused. Why do they look like they've been hit by a lightning bolt?
Shrugging, he continued, "Fine, I'll continue."
And then he laid out the Fertile Land Project.
A strategy to break the cycle of isolation.
A plan to integrate other clans and civilians into the police force, reshaping it into an organization where Uchiha led—but did not dominate. A system where civilians managed civilians, allowing Uchiha to step back from the frontline of every conflict.
A plan to divide Konoha's ruling elite, turning their own tactics against them.
A plan to make Hiruzen himself push back against Danzo—not because he wanted to, but because politically, he had to.
A plan to win the future of the Uchiha with Yangmo—not by brute force, but by forcing the enemy to assist in their own downfall.
