Chapter 116 - Chapter 115: Paranormal Investigation Bureau

The three of them used the chat group to teleport back to their own worlds. Even though they hadn't been able to help, no one complained.

That left Zhang Qiang alone to deal with the officers' questioning.

Cautiously, he asked, "So, your department specializes in handling supernatural incidents?"

The younger officer nodded. "That's right. We're part of the police force's paranormal division. Our job is to deal with supernatural cases. Now, can you explain how you got rid of the entity outside?"

Zhang Qiang took out the talisman Ren Fa had sent him and handed it over. "I used this to destroy it!"

One of the officers put on gloves, carefully took the talisman, and pulled out a device. He scanned the talisman with it, and the machine let out a soft beeping sound.

Hearing the beep, both officers visibly relaxed, and their expressions became much friendlier.

They returned the talisman to Zhang Qiang and asked, "Thank you for your cooperation. Are you a cultivator? Can you make talismans?"

From their words, Zhang Qiang picked up a lot of information. It seemed cultivators really existed, and these officers had encountered usable talismans before. He didn't know what that machine was, but it looked like some kind of detection device.

The older officer spoke politely. "Sir, would you be interested in joining our paranormal division? Strange incidents are happening more and more often these days, and we welcome all cultivators to join us!"

Seeing that Zhang Qiang didn't answer right away, the officer took out a business card and handed it over. "No rush. Take your time to think about it. If you're interested, just call the number on the card."

Zhang Qiang glanced at the card. It only had a phone number on it—nothing else.

"Alright then, we won't disturb you any longer. We'll be going now."

The two officers turned and left, closing the door behind them.

Now alone in the room, Zhang Qiang stood there holding the business card, motionless. The world around him suddenly felt unfamiliar.

Three days ago, strange and terrifying information flooded the internet. Today, he was attacked by a paper doll, then got pulled into some kind of multiverse chat group where the group leader saved him. And now, the national paranormal bureau had shown up out of nowhere.

It was all too much to take in at once.

Was there something wrong with the world, or was there something wrong with him?

…

Yang Tao, returning from the paranormal world, put on his fully charged quantum armor. He was heading to the Twilight Forest to find the last two bosses. He couldn't wait to unlock the next mod.

"Next up is the Alpha Yeti in the Snowy Forest!"

The Alpha Yeti wasn't a hard fight. As long as you kept up the right rhythm, it was pretty easy to take down.

Yang Tao teleported straight to the Yeti's den. As soon as he walked in, he saw the huge creature.

A blast of ice and snow came straight at him. He didn't have time to dodge and took a hit, though it only dealt a little damage.

"Not bad!" Yang Tao praised.

The Alpha Yeti hurled a bunch of ice bombs at him, but since he was ready for it, he dodged them easily.

Yang Tao fired arrows at the Yeti nonstop, but then the Yeti suddenly jumped in place. Snowflakes appeared around its body, and his arrows stopped doing any damage.

Huge chunks of ice began falling from the cave ceiling—this was the Yeti's second skill, Ice Drop.

Yang Tao weaved between the falling ice, waiting for the Yeti's immunity to wear off.

Before long, the Yeti suddenly dropped to the ground like a sulking child, tears gushing from its eyes. Yang Tao almost felt bad for it.

But there was no way to turn the Yeti into a pet and take it home, so he had no choice but to finish the fight!

While the Yeti was sitting there crying, it wouldn't fight back. This was the perfect chance to rush in with a high-damage melee weapon or keep chipping away at its health with arrows.

Then, the Yeti suddenly charged forward, grabbed Yang Tao, and flung him high into the air.

Yang Tao was startled by the unexpected move, but he didn't actually take much damage.

"You scared me! Weren't you supposed to be sitting there crying? Now you're trying to throw me around?"

He noticed that while the Yeti was charging with its arms stretched out, arrows wouldn't work anymore—they all bounced off.

The Yeti kept cycling through the same few attacks, occasionally sitting down to cry like a big baby.

"Rest in peace!"

Yang Tao fired the final arrow, finishing off the Alpha Yeti and collecting the loot.

But—there was no loot!

He left, disappearing into the snowy landscape, under the watchful eyes of a group of little Yetis who had just lost their leader.
