Selene stood at the edge of the shore, watching the waves roll gently toward her feet.
'I can get used to this peace. It feels…really nice.'
The sun was beginning to set, painting the sky with streaks of orange and pink. The colors reflected off the water, creating a shimmering glow that stretched across the horizon.
For the first time in what felt like forever, Selene felt… calm.
Her mind, usually racing with worries and unanswered questions, finally found a moment of peace.
She let out a slow breath and closed her eyes, allowing the sound of the waves to ground her.
Laughter echoed from behind, pulling her out of her thoughts.
Selene turned her head, her eyes landing on Zara and Orion. Zara was chasing after Orion, her bare feet kicking up sand as she tried to catch him.
Orion's grin was wide and carefree as he dodged her, clearly enjoying the game.
"Come back here, you little brat!"
Zara shouted, though her laughter betrayed any real frustration.
