Chapter 34 - Waking Up The Beast

"SLAM! Does he not care about me at all!?" Inside a dark basement, there was a girl continuously hitting a wooden table.

The amount of anger on her face was a sight to see.

The girl immediately stiffened once she heard a powerful voice coming from the multiple speakers in her room.

"You said that this would have worked, did you lie to me?.. If he doesn't come, we will have to get rid of you."

Her pupils dilated and she opened her mouth in shock. 'How can this be happening?' She thought.

This girl was Miki, she didn't look the same anymore.

Her clothes were dirty, her hair was disheveled, and there was a crazy expression on her face.

"Wait! Please give me another chance, I'll do anything!" She desperately pleaded

"Hahaha," The voice started laughing slowly, "Alright, just one more chance, remember what will happen if you succeed."

"Yes! Thank you so much." Miki kneeled on the hard floor and started bowing over and over again in an endless cycle.

The news about Hawk's death spread out quickly, they found his body hanging by the neck atop some trash cans.

A wild uproar spread through the citizens coupled with a mild depression, reality was starting to catch up to some.

Heroes could not save them… at least that's how it looked to the common mind.

Many people were now afraid to go out of their homes until the situation was dealt with, they didn't want to risk being killed.

"How could this have happened?" Toshinori Yagi, otherwise known as All Might, was looking at the body of his hero comrade.

He was standing between a sea of reporters and police.

'This is totally unacceptable,' he thought.

It was time for him to act again, he'd been holding himself back, and this is what happened.

If he didn't deal with his former student now, the future for everyone would be certain hell.

Toshinori in his skeletal form, gritted his teeth and closed his eyes.

Taking a deep breath, he started thinking about his injury and how it stopped him from taking action that day.

If he had just pushed himself to his limits, this would've never happened.

Now his former student was running rampant in the city.

It seemed like nothing could stop him, nothing except him…

"I'm sorry, Hawks, you deserved better than this. I will make sure to honor your death after detaining this lost youngster." He muttered.

At the same time this was happening, Shinji was spying on the scene.

Looking at the skinny blond man that suspiciously looked like All Might, he started having doubts.

'Could this guy be All Might?' He then formed a mental image of All Might with huge muscles and smiling while doing an heroic pose.

"As if," he said in a low voice.

'I can't believe he hasn't shown his face, my respect for him has become lower than low.'

While he was trying to concentrate on the scene, Aurora, who was behind him, kept distracting him.

She kept on touching his shoulders and when he looked back, she started punching the air.

"You never get tired do you?" He tiredly asked.

"Aaaaahh, aahhh," She attempted to speak, but no words came out.

Shinji had already developed the ability to understand her even with the communication barrier.

He'd discovered that using her quirk on him left him drained and without energy after some time.

"Alright, I will teach you how to fight, but you gotta pay attention and focus okay?"

She nodded vigorously before he placed his attention again on the scene.

The man that looked a little like All Might had left.

"Sigh!" Shinji sighed while slumping his shoulders.

He stood up from his position and with nothing else to do, waited for night time to arrive.

When it did, he heard something happening behind him.

Seeing the familiar purple fog, he knew he wouldn't like what was about to happen.

Kurogiri appeared and made his final offer.

"Last week things didn't turn out so great between us. Accept the deal, and your sister will be safe."

Shinji scoffed, "So she's still safe, that's what you're saying? I thought you said that she was going to die last time?"

"She was tortured, her mental health right now is not the best, if she doesn't see you soon she will lose herself, and we will kill her when that happens."

"Some sacrifices have to be made," Shinji paused, "I'm willing to give up my sister for the wellness of this world."

Kurogiri lowly scoffed, "What are you trying to achieve? These senseless murders will not get you anything."

"I don't expect you to understand, I'll let my results speak for themselves."

"Alright, don't say I didn't warn you." Kurogiri disappeared from where he stood and left Shinji alone with Aurora once again.

He didn't have much time to think as he heard something approaching his direction at unprecedented speeds.

This was a speed he still remembered. He looked behind him and stepped back at the same time with Aurora.

All Might landed on the rooftop and slowly stood up from a crouching position.

His smile was gone, "Now this is interesting," Shinji said.

"Were you always this strong?" A nervous smile appeared on Shinji's face seeing All Might in peak physical condition.

'Maybe I made a mistake.'
