The five friends made their way through the tunnels and to the Head Quarters which is what he had named the new War Room. They hadn't had much time to explore the rest of the area but it wasn't that important to them. They sat around the table studying spells and getting stronger in their magic while the leaders were out gathering information. Vardy had never thought much of his Vampire blood till last night. He had never heard his parents mention anything about Vampires so he decided he would study up about them and learn the history. He sat there, pouring over the ancient manuscripts and scrolls. According to those, the Vampires were alive from the beginning.
They slaughtered whole villages and towns but then a law was passed among the Vampire Elders that they would only drink the blood of animals. A group of Vampires didn't like that idea and formed a group of their own. They stealthily drank from people and decided to reproduce with the people. That's when Hybrids were born. Hybrids didn't need to drink blood but could if they wanted to. They could survive on both but they were weak in the sunlight and day time. That part never changed about the Vampire Line. Which explained why Vardy felt the way he did about the cold and dark corridors. There was Vampire Royalty. Count Dracula, the king of Vampires. He created the whole blood line. He was an experiment gone wrong of sorts and he started the race of Vampires.
The Wolf Shifters didn't appreciate them much. They never got along. When the Vampires were forced to drink the blood of animals, both races made a deal. The wolves ate the meat, the Vampires got the blood. Things were fine till Vampires started killing the Shifters as well. War broke loose and the Vampires fled. It was assumed they stopped reproducing and apparently Vardy was a descendant of a Vampire. If so....whoever the relative was....should still be alive. Frustration shrouded Vardy's mind. His bloodline was a mystery to him and he had no grasp on his abilities. He had a lot of people depending on him to defeat these Dark Warlocks but he didn't even know if he could defeat one. He hadn't yet. He needed some good news.
"What did you guys find?" He asked them to bring their attention to him. Tracy didn't look up but he didn't mind it. Luthor and Ferah went first with the information about elves and dragons. None of the information would help them though.
"I'M IN!" Tracy announced as she put Sly's phone back together and handed it to me. I unlocked it and nodded in appreciation as I looked through it. There was one number he had in his phone. Everything else was empty other than his notes. In his notes was a game, a plan of the attack they recently had. Vardy took a risk and dialed the number, setting the phone on speaker, he let it ring and sat it in the centre of the table. The ringing stopped and a voice sounded.
"You better have some news and have made progress. I am tired of you lazy Warlocks. I have waited for ages and yet there is no progress", said the voice. Vardy had heard that voice before but he couldn't remember where. "In 2 days, when you attack them, I want you to bring him to me. Him and his little friends. You understand"? The voice boomed and the line went dead. Something was going down in two days. They needed to figure it out fast. Vardy still didn't understand where he had heard that voice before but for now he put it to the side and started thinking of where and what could be happening in 2 days. Whatever it is....and whoever that was....they wanted him and not only him but his friends to.
If he was going to protect his friends then he was going to have to figure it out and fast. Vardy was not a fan of being unprepared or caught off guard and this time he was determined to be on top of it all. The Leaders walked in. Vardy caught them up to speed and found that having them on his side was a plus and very useful thing. It gave him an advantage. Dragon's were amazing trackers and Elves were good at stealth. Sending out a few spies was his best bet at the moment. Jesse ended up finding something not long after, Maps. Maps of more underground tunnels and areas. It was like a whole city down there. Devon and Aegon sent a few people to check it out but they didn't go unprepared.
Vardy was anxious and his chest squeezed. The weight of this whole event was now on his shoulders and he wasn't sure what to do. He didn't have control over anything and still hadn't figured anything out. All he could do was train and wait for their people to come back with news. Ferah sensed his mood and gave him a reassuring nod in an attempt to comfort him but it did no good. The hours ticked by, slower then he would have liked and his anxiousness only grew worse. Finally, one of Devon's people finally came back with news that he could use.
"I found a passageway that leads to a portal. I didn't go through the portal. I sent a couple of people through and came here to tell you. The ruins engraved at the entrance marked it as Dark Magic territory. I think it's one of their hideouts. There was no sign of where the portal led so I couldn't do much", informed the spy. Devon nodded.
"Good work, Frenrick." Devon said and dismissed Frenrick. Vardy looked over the other maps and found the passage he was talking about but there was no way of knowing exactly where it went to. It only could go one of two ways which meant they had to have two separate parties. He wasn't prepared to be separated from his friends he had grown to care and appreciate for. Which meant Devon would have to go one way while he went the other.
Vardy didn't make any final calls till he had the rest of the information. The wait was agonizing and the five decided to go up for classes. On their way to their dorm room, they weren't planning on getting attacked by Dean and his bullies. They had been waiting in the room for the five friends and as soon as all of them were inside, the door slammed shut and the lights went on. They were surrounded.
Punches flew, legs flew out and kicked. Knives were taken out and used to stab them. They were defenseless against their bullies and they didn't like it one bit. Anger and rage filled Vardy's chest as he caught Dean by the shirt and punched him repeatedly. His friends were in the background fending for themselves. Vardy vowed that one day, he would be strong enough and wise enough to come back and teach them a lesson. Once all five friends were too exhausted and in too much pain to move, the bullies left the room.
Vardy, who was weak but could still stand and walk around, did his best to help his wounded friends. They ended up in the infirmary with multiple injuries and gashes. Ferah had a broken arm and the other's were bruised and bleeding. Vardy was ashamed he couldn't protect his friends from those bullies. He was determined to get his revenge.
Hours ticked by and he finally got word about his friends. Ferah wouldn't be able to fight or do much with her broken hand but the others were okay. They wouldn't be able to move much and they would be in pain but they would be okay. They had stitches and bandages on their whole body. Medicine was given to them and they spent the night in the safety of the infirmary. The friends did their best to recuperate and be prepared for the challenge they knew was too come in mere hours but they were still too tired and in too much pain to move much.
Vardy went to Devon to see if he could help and Arlena had a few Elvish medicines he could use. So he raced up to the infirmary with hope in his heart as he applied the medicine as instructed. It was a balm. A balm that was made to sooth muscles and strengthen bones. Vardy, exhausted and spent, layed down and fell asleep in a fit of frustration.
Hours ticked by and Vardy woke up to the sound of his friend chattering and walking about the room. A sense of relief, pride and joy filled him as he joined his friends and checked them once over. Deciding it was a big headache to explain elvish medicine to the medic there, the friends ran to the War Room and went through the tunnels. They felt as if they had been renewed to full recovery.
