Chapter 88: Eliminating the Competition

Raizen watched as the asteroid base drifted in the void, a metal fortress wedged between dense rock formations. From the outside, it looked defensible, but he knew its security was only surface-level. A well-placed assault would crack it open like a shell.

He stood on the command deck of the Shadow Fang, flanked by Liana, Kain, and Joran, studying the holo-map of their target. The rival syndicate inside had been a persistent nuisance for Sera Volkan's refinery, cutting into trade and smuggling high-value minerals through unmarked routes.

"They'll expect a raid," Liana said, her fingers gliding over the holo-display, marking enemy positions. "But they won't expect us to move this quickly."

Joran smirked. "That's the fun part, isn't it?"

Raizen's golden eyes gleamed. "We hit them hard and fast—disable their leadership, take control of the base, and ensure no one else gets any ideas."

The Assault Begins

The Shadow Fang maneuvered through the asteroid field, its stealth system keeping it hidden until the last moment. As soon as they reached optimal range, Liana deployed an electronic jamming wave, knocking out enemy comms and scanners.

A siren blared inside the base as the docking bay doors exploded inward, sending shrapnel flying. Raizen led the charge, his energy blade igniting in a streak of crimson. His Draconic Aura pulsed through his body, making every movement sharper, faster.

Gunfire erupted from entrenched defenders, but Kain and Joran returned fire with ruthless efficiency. The air filled with the sounds of combat—screams, metal tearing, and the crackle of energy discharges. Raizen vaulted over a barricade, severing an enemy's rifle in half before delivering a crushing blow to his chest.

He felt his blood stir, the Draconic power awakening further with each battle. His instincts sharpened, his movements becoming almost supernatural as he tore through the enemy forces.

Within minutes, they had breached the command center. The syndicate leader, a gaunt man with cybernetic implants, stood frozen in terror as Raizen's golden gaze bore into him.

"You have one choice," Raizen said, stepping forward. "Submit or die."

The leader hesitated, but Raizen's aura flared, pressing down on him like an overwhelming force of nature. The man collapsed to his knees. "We—we surrender."

Raizen smirked. "Good choice."

With the base secured, Raizen opened a direct channel to Sera Volkan. "Your competition is gone. The asteroid base is under my control."

Sera's voice carried a hint of amusement. "Efficient work. And now?"

"Now we make sure no one else dares interfere with our operations."

He cut the transmission, looking out over the now-silent battlefield. Another stepping stone to dominance had been claimed.
