Chapter 130: Awakening the Past

The deeper they ventured into the Draconic outpost, the heavier the air became. It wasn't just the stale atmosphere—it was the weight of something old, something that had been dormant for centuries.

Raizen could feel it in his bones.

They entered a vast chamber, illuminated by flickering blue lights embedded in the walls. The space was lined with massive pillars covered in Draconic inscriptions, and at the far end, a pedestal stood beneath a holographic projection of an ancient figure clad in ceremonial armor.

Nyx inhaled sharply. "This is it."

Seraphina frowned. "The core of the outpost?"

Nyx shook her head. "More than that. This is where the legacy of the Draconic Sovereigns was sealed."

A Trial of Will

As Raizen approached the pedestal, the holographic figure turned its gaze upon him, its glowing golden eyes locking onto his form. A deep, resonant voice filled the chamber.

"Blood of the Sovereign. You have returned."

Raizen froze. "You know who I am?"

The projection nodded. "Your presence alone confirms it. But mere blood is not enough. To reclaim the inheritance of the Draconic Kings, you must prove yourself."

Joran sighed. "Of course there's a test."

Raizen smirked, stepping forward. "What do I have to do?"

The chamber rumbled, and suddenly, the air grew thick with raw energy. From the shadows, two massive Draconic Sentinels emerged, their forms pulsing with ancient power.

"The trial is simple," the projection intoned. "Survive."

Clash with the Guardians

The first sentinel lunged, claws slashing toward Raizen at blinding speed. He barely dodged, rolling to the side as his energy blade ignited in a burst of golden flame.

Kain and Joran opened fire, their shots ricocheting off the sentinel's armor. Seraphina unleashed a wave of violet energy, forcing the second guardian back, but it barely faltered.

Nyx shouted, "These things aren't normal constructs—they're infused with Draconic Will. You have to break their core, not their armor!"

Raizen growled, dodging another attack. He needed an opening.

Then he felt it.

A pulse of Draconic energy surged through his veins, stronger than before. His aura flared, golden and untamed, as he charged forward.

With a powerful leap, he brought his blade down, striking at the sentinel's core. The impact sent shockwaves through the chamber.

The sentinel let out a final roar, before its form collapsed into shimmering embers.

One down.

Raizen turned to face the second.

And this time, he embraced the power awakening within him.
