Chapter 133: Departure and Destiny
As the last echoes of power faded from the chamber, Raizen's body still thrummed with the newly awakened strength coursing through his veins. The air around him crackled with energy, remnants of the Draconic inheritance he had just claimed. His crew stood in awe, watching as his aura slowly stabilized.
Nyx folded her arms. "So, Sovereign, where to next?"
Raizen turned toward the exit of the chamber. "This was only the beginning. We need to move before someone else tries to take what's mine."
Seraphina nodded. "We should assume the Syndicate has been tracking us. The longer we stay, the greater the risk."
Kain checked his rifle. "I'd rather not deal with another ambush."
Liana's voice crackled over the comms. "Ship's prepped for launch. You might want to hurry—I'm detecting multiple incoming signatures."
Raizen sighed. "Of course."
The Escape
The team moved quickly through the dark corridors of the outpost. The ancient technology hummed faintly, as if reluctant to let them go. The closer they got to the docking bay, the more Raizen felt an unsettling presence creeping up his spine.
Then, as they rounded a final corridor, a piercing alarm blared through the station.
Selara cursed. "They're here."
The docking bay was in chaos—three Syndicate warships loomed outside, blocking their path, while heavily armed mercenaries poured into the bay.
Nyx smirked. "They never learn."
Raizen activated his Crimson Fang Energy Blade. "Then let's remind them."
Clash in the Hangar
Blaster fire erupted as the crew engaged the mercenaries. Joran charged forward, his sheer brute force tearing through the enemy ranks, while Kain provided covering fire. Seraphina unleashed violet energy bursts, sending enemies flying into walls.
Raizen moved like a phantom through the chaos, his newly enhanced speed allowing him to cut down foes with brutal efficiency. The moment he activated his Draconic aura, the battlefield shifted—his strikes became faster, sharper, and heavier.
One of the mercenaries hesitated, eyes wide. "That's not normal—"
Raizen cut him down before he could finish.
Liana's voice crackled through the comms again. "Engines at full! If you're getting out of there, now's the time!"
Raizen signaled to the crew. "Move!"
Into the Stars
The team sprinted onto the ship as the docking bay doors burst open behind them. The corvette's thrusters roared to life, launching them into space just as enemy fighters swarmed after them.
Raizen took the helm. "Liana, give me a course."
She worked quickly. "I've got a route, but it's risky."
Raizen smirked. "Then it's perfect."
As the corvette shot into hyperspace, Raizen exhaled, his golden eyes burning with renewed determination.
His destiny was only beginning.
