Chapter 145: Declaring War
With the first strike against the Syndicate completed, Raizen knew it was time to move beyond defense. Holding a fortress meant nothing if they remained cornered. It was time to take the fight to them.
Standing before a massive assembly of his forces, Raizen addressed his warriors. "The Syndicate believes they can crush us. That we're just another upstart faction to be wiped out." He let his golden eyes sweep over the gathered soldiers, Malakar's hardened veterans, and the new mercenaries who had joined their cause. "They're wrong."
A murmur of agreement swept through the ranks.
"The Syndicate has ruled through fear for too long. We will be the blade that shatters their grip. We will be the storm that changes the balance of power."
The roar of approval shook the fortress.
Raizen turned to Malakar. "Where is their nearest stronghold?"
Malakar grinned. "There's a Syndicate-controlled station in the nearby Beltros System. If you want to make a statement, taking that out would be the perfect way."
Raizen smirked. "Then let's send them a message."
The Assault on Beltros Station
With precise coordination, Raizen's fleet exited hyperspace above the Syndicate's orbital base in the Beltros System.
From the bridge of the Revenant, he watched the enemy's defense grid scramble to respond. Their numbers were greater, but their preparation was lacking. This was exactly what Raizen had counted on.
"All ships, engage."
Explosions erupted as his forces descended upon the station. Fighters wove between capital ships, exchanging deadly fire. Boarding pods pierced the station's hull, unloading shock troopers who swiftly overran the interior corridors.
Raizen personally led the charge, his energy blade carving through Syndicate enforcers as he advanced deeper into the heart of the station.
The enemy commander, realizing their position was hopeless, attempted to flee—but Raizen intercepted him. He leveled his blade at the terrified man's throat. "Tell your leaders. The Syndicate's reign is over."
With the station secured and their first major victory achieved, Raizen stood amid the chaos and smirked. This was just the beginning.
The war had truly begun.
