Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The First Move

Ethan stood frozen in his apartment, the weight of his rebirth pressing down on him. His fingers trembled, not from fear—but from exhilaration. He had been given a second chance.

Outside, the world still moved as if nothing was wrong. Pedestrians bustled down the streets. Vendors argued over prices. Children laughed, their innocent voices filling the air. They had no idea that in less than 24 hours, everything would burn.

But this time, Ethan wouldn't be caught unprepared.

He closed his eyes and focused on the strange energy coursing through him. It wasn't just adrenaline—it was something more. A raw, untamed force hummed beneath his skin, waiting to be controlled.

Cataclysm Control.

The name alone sent a chill through him. He clenched his fist, and for a brief moment, he felt something shift—like the air around him bent to his will. Wind. Electricity. The very ground itself.

With time, he could wield them all.

But power alone wasn't enough. He needed weapons, supplies, and allies.

Priority One: Stockpile Essentials

Ethan grabbed his wallet, phone, and a duffel bag. Cash still held value today—but tomorrow, it would be worthless. He ran through a mental checklist:

✔ Guns & Ammo – Only strength matters in the new world.✔ Food & Water – Supermarkets would be raided within hours of the outbreak.✔ Medicine – Infections, injuries, exhaustion. Survival depended on preparation.✔ Shelter – His apartment wouldn't last. He needed somewhere defensible.

He yanked open his drawer, pulling out a small black key—his storage unit.

A year ago, he'd invested in a secure storage facility outside the city for emergencies. His past self thought it was paranoia. Now? It was the best decision he'd ever made.

Priority Two: Find Olivia Moore

Ethan's grip tightened around his phone. Olivia Moore. The strongest psychic warrior of the apocalypse.

Before, they had been nothing more than distant allies—two survivors in a collapsing world. She had been fierce, relentless, and feared. A woman who rose to power when the world turned to chaos.

But she had died alone.

A memory flashed in Ethan's mind. Olivia, standing on a battlefield of corpses, blood dripping from her fingertips, eyes hollow as she fought a losing war.

If she had also been reborn, she wouldn't waste a second before seizing power. If not… he would find her, recruit her, and change her fate.

Ethan opened his contacts, scrolling through numbers he barely remembered. Then he found it—Olivia Moore.

His finger hovered over the call button. Would she believe him?

There was only one way to find out.

He exhaled sharply and dialed.

RING… RING…

A pause. Then—

Click.

A familiar voice, cold and sharp as steel. "Who is this?"

A smirk tugged at Ethan's lips.

She was still alive. And now, everything was about to change.
