CHAPTER 3
PREPARATION FOR THE EXAMINATION
The two brothers, ken and Sammy , sat in their spacious bedroom, surrounded by expensive gadgets and lavish decorations. Their father, a wealthy businessman, had spared no expense in providing them with the best possible life.
As they prepared for their upcoming exams, sammy , the older brother, seemed relatively relaxed. He had always relied on his natural intelligence and quick thinking to get by. Ken , on the other hand, was more anxious. He knew he needed to work harder to keep up with his brother's grades.
The brothers' study routine
1. *Ken 's approach*: He skimmed through his notes, confident that he could absorb the information quickly.
2. *Sammy 's approach*: He tried to focus on his studies, but his mind kept wandering, and he found himself distracted by his phone and social media.
As they studied, their conversation turned to their plans for the upcoming exams.
"I'm not worried," Alex said, leaning back in his chair. "I've got this in the bag."
Ken looked up from his notes, feeling a mix of frustration and envy. "You're always so confident, Sammy . But what if we get caught? Dad's going to kill us."
Ken shrugged. "We'll be fine. We've got the best tutors, and Dad's connections will help us get ahead."
Sammy hesitated, unsure if he should voice his concerns. "But isn't that cheating? I don't want to feel like we're not earning our grades."
Ken chuckled. "Come on, Sammy . Everyone does it. It's just the way things are. Besides, Dad will take care of us no matter what."
As they continued their conversation, their attitudes towards the exams and their studies became increasingly clear. They were more focused on finding ways to get good grades without putting in the effort, rather than actually learning the material.
CHAPTER 4
The temptation of malpractice
As the exam dates approached, the brothers began to feel the pressure. They knew they needed to perform well to maintain their grades and their father's approval.
One day, while studying at a local café, they overheard a conversation between two students who were discussing ways to cheat on the exams. The brothers exchanged a glance, and for the first time, they started to consider the possibility of malpractice as a viable option.
As they sat at the café, the brothers couldn't help but listen in on the conversation between the two students. They discussed various methods of cheating, from using hidden earpieces to receiving answers via text message.
The brothers' inner conflict
1. *Ken thoughts*: He was intrigued by the idea of cheating, thinking it could be an easy way to get ahead. He rationalized that everyone else was doing it, so why shouldn't they?
2.Sammy s thoughts*: He felt uneasy, knowing that cheating was wrong. He worried about the consequences of getting caught and the impact on their reputation.
As they left the café, the brothers didn't discuss what they had overheard. However, the seed of temptation had been planted.
The decision
That evening, Ken approached Sammy with a proposition. "Hey, I've been thinking. We could use some help on the exams. You know, just to make sure we get good grades."
Ken knew what Sammy was suggesting, and he felt a surge of anxiety. "I don't know, Ken . It's not right."
Ken shrugged. "Come on, Sammy . It's just this one time. We can get the answers, and no one will ever know."
"Ken " hesitated, weighing his options. He didn't want to cheat, but he also didn't want to disappoint their father or fall behind his brother.
The consequences of their decision
The brothers decided to take the easy way out, using a combination of hidden earpieces and text messages to cheat on the exams.
At first, it seemed like a clever solution. They both scored high grades, and their father was thrilled.
However, their actions didn't go unnoticed. The school's administration had been monitoring the exams, and they had caught the brothers cheating.
The consequences were severe. The brothers faced disciplinary action, including suspension and a mark on their permanent records.
Their father's reputation was also tarnished, and he was furious with his sons.
CHAPTER 5
THE AFTERMATH
The brothers were forced to confront the consequences of their actions. They had to attend counseling sessions, where they explored the reasons behind their decision to cheat.
Ken realized that he had been pressured by his brother and the desire to fit in. Sammy understood that he had been arrogant and overconfident.
Their relationship with their father was strained, but they eventually began to rebuild trust.
The brothers learned a valuable lesson about the importance of integrity and hard work. They vowed to make better choices in the future.
