After delving deep into each other one more time, both Cassius and Lydia were equally wasted. Neither was ready to move a muscle so they remained there, legs intertwined, body nestled in the arms of each other.
It wasn't unpleasant for either person, in fact it allowed sleep to take over them quickly.
And when dawn came, it came with raw hunger for food. For neither of them had eaten anything the previous day.
Lydia made bean soup with what was left of the deer Cassius had previously roasted and they ate it without bread for she had run out of it.
"Do not stare at me like that, Sire." Lydia blushed as all the while she made their meal, his gaze did not waver from her body. And even as they ate, they remained steadfast on her.
"Why?" He questioned.
"Because it would cause me to begin to think that you want me again." She sincerely spoke how she felt. He had asked her last night if she was afraid of his eyes.
And she had told him the truth.
