Chapter 111 - Chapter 111

Hyuga Chinano vs. Aburame Hatsuizumi

The two figures clashed violently, their impact sending shockwaves through the air and kicking up dust from the ground.

This wasn't just a simple physical collision—unlike some other shinobi, their bodies weren't built for brute force. Instead, it was their weapons that clashed.

On Hyuga Chinano's side, she wielded a black-and-white bo staff, its surface covered in soft white fur, with faint black lines running through the section she gripped. The ends of the staff were a deep gray-black, perfectly sized for her to hold with both hands. This was the weapon transformation of her panda summon, Momohiko.

Aburame Hatsuizumi's weapon, on the other hand, was unusual. She held a small shield, adorned with a pattern reminiscent of the Taijitu (Yin-Yang symbol), though its colors alternated between green and yellow. At its center, a sharp thorn protruded unnaturally, hinting at its origins from the Spring and Autumn Period.

Their deadlock didn't last long. Chinano was the first to notice something wrong—Hatsuizumi's shield was absorbing Momohiko's chakra. She could feel the summon weakening. Without hesitation, she flipped backward, retreating while drawing the pistol holstered at her waist. As she landed, she fired off a shot.

Hatsuizumi, having taken a hit earlier, didn't stand idle. The moment her feet touched the ground, she formed dozens of chakra bullets, launching them in an elegant, rapid barrage.

At first glance, the bullets seemed similar to her previous shots, but there was a critical difference—their colors hinted at unique properties.

Each bullet was infused with a different elemental nature, making them miniature ninjutsu in their own right.

Blue bullets carried swirling water currents, with razor-thin water needles hidden inside.

Yellow bullets were solid, triggering spiked earth formations upon impact.

Red bullets erupted into powerful explosions.

This was no ordinary gunfire—this was American Iai.

Hatsuizumi, unfazed, stored away her shield and reached for the Shigure (Autumn Rain) at her waist. She closed her eyes briefly, and when she reopened them, her gaze had transformed—her pupils elongated into ovals, and a streak of purple markings extended from the corners of her eyes.

For a brief moment, the air itself seemed to stagnate.

Before Chinano could react, Hatsuizumi had already crossed the three-meter gap between them. With a smooth motion, she sheathed her blade—

BOOM!

A brilliant explosion erupted behind her.

Chinano remained composed. She was surprised at Hatsuizumi's new abilities, but battle demanded calmness, and she wouldn't let herself be shaken.

"Hakkeshō Kaiten (Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation)!"

Chinano spun in place, twirling her cooled-down pistol in her hand before firing another shot.

"Tsukigiri (Moon Blade)!"

As she executed Kaiten, numerous crescent-shaped blades materialized around Hatsuizumi. These shimmering moon-like arcs homed in on Chinano with blinding speed.

Chinano's Kaiten managed to deflect most of them, though several blades still managed to slip through, grazing her clothes. A few even nicked her skin, drawing thin lines of blood.

"You're pretty skilled," Hatsuizumi admitted with a smirk, taking a step back.

Her body was undergoing a drastic transformation—

Her once-petite frame grew taller and more mature. Most of her hair turned pure white, and small, elegant dragon-like horns sprouted from her forehead. Her skin became ghostly pale, giving her a completely different appearance.

"Semi no Kawagari, Ryū ni Tensei! (Cicada Shedding: Transformation into a Dragon!)"

With a wave of her hand, countless golden cicadas emerged, surging toward Chinano like a tidal wave.

Chinano, realizing her pistol wasn't suited for this battle anymore, quickly stored it away. Forming hand seals at lightning speed, she unleashed a water-style technique.

A massive wall of water rose above her, forming an impenetrable barrier against the golden cicadas.

"Got you," she thought.

But something unexpected happened.

The cicadas, trapped in the water, began to explode one after another. As they burst, streams of blood gushed forth, their broken shells raining down from above.

Before long, the entire water barrier was stained a deep, ominous red.

Hatsuizumi had anticipated Chinano's use of water jutsu. This wasn't an attack on Chinano—this was an attack on her jutsu itself.

The blood-tainted water began to ripple, gathering at a single point. It swelled larger and larger, until a massive dragon claw made of blood emerged, lunging straight at Chinano.

With no escape, Chinano activated her Byakugan and Red eye simultaneously. Her Byakugan allowed her to see an unusual red cicada hidden deep within the blood dragon's body.

(TL: what do the other eye Of chinano called again comment it please.)

"That's the true body."

"Hakkeshō Kōshō (Eight Trigrams Empty Palm)!"

She thrust her palm forward, sending an invisible shockwave straight into the core of the blood dragon.

The moment her attack connected, the dragon's head disintegrated just as it was about to clamp down on her shoulder.

Hatsuizumi emerged from the blood mist, gripping Shigure. The blackened edge of her blade flickered between the moonlight's glow and the aura of her insects.

Her attacks rained down in a relentless flurry.

Chinano's red eye spun wildly, her vision blurring from the effort. She forced Hatsuizumi into a momentary illusion, barely dodging the incoming strikes.

At that moment—

BOOM!

A shotgun blast tore through the battlefield, spewing colorful bullets into the air.

Hatsuizumi's body was engulfed in the explosion.

As the smoke cleared, a charred figure collapsed, breaking apart like shattered glass.

Chinano's heart sank.

She realized her mistake—she had focused too much on her illusion and hadn't activated her Byakugan earlier. Now, she could see the truth.

It was too late.

From behind, a slimy, frost-covered arm wrapped around her neck.

Hatsuizumi, now completely naked, her body covered in a thin, mucous-like membrane, had caught Chinano in a grappling hold.

Her hands tightened around Chinano's throat.

There was no doubt—she had won.

"In the second match, Aburame Hatsuizumi wins," a voice announced.

Uzumaki Zixu clapped his hands in approval.

"That was a spectacular battle," he praised. "Chinano's adaptability and quick reactions were impressive, and Hatsuizumi's strategic foresight was equally commendable."

His gaze lingered on Hatsuizumi.

"Though… her Sage Mode seems a little different from mine."

"Hehehe, I won," Hatsuizumi grinned, releasing Chinano.

As her transformation reversed, she shrank back to her petite form, though she was still wrapped in that frosted glass-like film.

"You should put some clothes on," Chinano sighed, tossing her a sealing scroll before walking off the stage.
