Hope and Daphne were using their last day before they had to repeat school… Yet again in Hope's case, to go over all the information they had to ensure that the two time travellers and universal travellers could seamlessly slot themselves into a new school. Make sure that the other kids would never imagine that they weren't from this world.
Which means to Daphne's complete and utter annoyance, she was spending an entire day learning how to be a normal 17 ½ year old teenager who grew up in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Instead of the Wizarding World, something that Hope, Freya and Lizzie all constantly complained about the Hogwarts world being set in the Dark Ages with quills, lanterns, dark castles and no electricity.
The Tribrid had an incredibly hard time trying to explain the internet to the blonde, then there was music, pop culture, American history, recent world history since Hogwarts never covered No-Maj history because they thought it wasn't relevant. Hope also had to collaborate this information using Google since she's not sure if any of the history between her world and this world matched up or not. Thankfully most of the history synced up so it was easy enough to research.
Daphne absolutely hated the fact that she didn't know all this information and that some of it would be classified as general knowledge in this world. But it was too much information all at once that even the brilliant sponge that is Daphne's brain couldn't take the immense amount of knowledge in one sitting.
After the blonde tapped out, Daphne basically pleaded over the bond to Allison, begging the Huntress to get Hope to stop torturing her with Americanisms while appealing to Allison's French heritage for help. Hope overheard the conversation and rolled her eyes through the bond so the other two members could feel it making them both laugh.
' Daph you are more than aware of my Norwegian background love. Remember Freya, my aunt, the Immortal Viking Witch? Keyword "Viking". Like literally Viking . Also do remember that I had to live through all of Nic and Nelle's French traditions then all of your British cultures. I had to do this when I arrived in your world, love. I'm even doing it now. Surprisingly, Western American culture from 20 years ago is so much different from Eastern American culture from 2030.' Hope argued with a specific level of sass that can only come for a Mikaelson.
Allison pursed her lips together in amusement while trying to act as though she was trying desperately not to interfere in this conversation while listening in with incredible interest. The Huntress was so intrigued any time Hope and Daphne would discuss their past.
Their lives were so magical, pardon the pun, that there were days when Allison wished she would have known about the supernatural world earlier than when she was told. So she could have some interesting stories to tell the Emrys couple instead of the pain and death that her family has caused to this world.
This argument that Hope and Daphne were having in the early hours of the night was being broadcasted to Allison. The Huntress was waiting for the strawberry blonde to finish up in the multiple clothes stores that were having an end of summer sales. Allison eventually grew restless and just started silently following Lydia as she passed clothes that were still on their coathangers over her shoulder and placing them over Allison's reluctant yet willing outstretched arms.
' Darling, trust me when I say that it would be impossible to forget your Aunt. Especially those very creative and explicit Norse swears that she would create just for Dumbledore, Snape, Voldemort and the Umbitch. Your Aunt is unforgettable and believe me when I say that I still have the internal bruises from when your Aunt magically belted me against so many surfaces I'm surprised I didn't break every inch of Flitwick's classroom. ' Daphne replied with a roll of her eyes as the blonde mentally rubbed at her shoulder and upper back at the phantom pain.
Allison nearly stumbled into Lydia as she was so shocked by the description of Hope's aunt literally beating the hell out of Daphne.
Hope almost let out an indignant snort at Daphne's implication before feeling Allison's utter concern and sobered up a bit as did Daphne. ' Allison. Freya is not as bad as I'm making her out to be. Yes. She is ruthless, callous and vicious when it comes to defending her family but she's also patient, remarkably understanding, caring and highly protective of those she considers family. Hope's family has a saying that they live by. Something that they rarely include new people into this Vow .'
'Always and Forever . This is the Vow that my family lived and breathed by. Keep one another safe through hell or high heaven. To never abandon each other. The moment Freya was aware of my presence in Daphne's universe she hardly ever left me out of her sight. My Aunt's way of showing her concern about my safety then Daphne's after learning that we were together was to train us. To impart all of her knowledge onto us. ' Hope spoke her motto with such love in her heart that it vibrated warmly through both Allison and Daphne's soulbonds before explaining what her Vow meant to her.
' Freya taught us so many spells that I didn't even know existed. Magic that hasn't been seen for over 1,000 years! Freya may be a hardass but she's an amazing teacher and Aunt. Freya made me feel like I was part of the family within the first few minutes of meeting me. Hope's Aunt would never harm us. Never in a million years. Freya is 100% loyal to her family. To Hope. ' Daphne continued on with Hope's clarification on the Tribrid's Aunt's profile, wanting to prove to Allison that Freya only did what she did because she cared about them.
Allison sighed as she did her hardest not to connect the visions of her Aunt to Hope's Aunt. However, it was impossible to do as Hope and Daphne only felt pure love for this woman, Freya, while all Allison felt regarding her own Aunt was hatred and regret.
' I get it girls… Oh… I got to go. Lydia's looking at me funny. Apparently I haven't been responding to her for a while… And now she knows I'm talking to the two of you instead of her. Damn! ' Allison groaned as her voice and presence muted within the minds of the Emrys couple as the Huntress focused on the events in front of her.
Hope and Daphne sighed while the blonde turned to Hope. "So are we interfering tonight?"
"No… We need to let things play out according to the script for a little while. Ignore the Darach for as long as possible until she drags us into her war and the Alpha Pack better not attack you or Allison or I will show them to bow down to the Queen or die." Hope announced as she allowed her golden Werewolf eyes to glow brightly, dangerously while her fangs lengthened into sharp points.

"Holy shit! Are you talking to them right now?" Lydia nearly shouted at her best friend as she watched the slightly tanned ivory skin take on a light shade of red as Allison was flushed with embarrassment.
" … Are you flirting with them?" The strawberry blonde practically whispered as she placed the last shopping bag into her car and peeked out from behind the back of her car observing Allison.
"No!" Allison defended herself awkwardly since her voice broke.
Lydia laughed as she shut her trunk before moving around to the driver's side of her car all while calling the older girl out on her bullshit. "Yeah right! I totally believed that Ally!"
Allison groaned as both girls hopped into the car before repeating her answer, only this time more strongly. "I wasn't flirting with them, Lyds. Apparently Hope was trying to embed close to 80 years of American history and pop culture into Daphne's head in the span of a single day. Daph hates it so she shifted the conversation to something else. I learned a bit about Hope's Aunt Freya."
"And?" Lydia questioned as she started up the car.
"Hope's Aunt is scarily powerful and her primary concern is to protect her family. By any means necessary." Allison replied as she seemed to trail off, looking out the car window.
Lydia took the social cues from the Huntress and remained quiet for a few minutes as she started driving back to Allison's to drop her off before the first day of school.
"So apart from Hope and Daphne did you meet anyone else while you were in France for 4 months?" Lydia started off with a suggestive voice and a cheeky grin.
Allison scoffs as she turns to face Lydia with a small smile. "You know I didn't. I wasn't ready to get back out there."
"Wasn't?" Lydia quickly narrows in on forcing the other girl to flinch slightly.
"I think I'm getting there… The girls are surprisingly attentive while giving me my space. They know I'm not quite ready yet. Not after all the drama with Scott and the Werewolves." Allison admits thoughtfully as she bites her lip.
"Speaking of… How is –." Allison was quickly cut off by Lydia.
"Do not say his name." The Banshee threatened clearly with just her tone.
Allison only nodded in acceptance but still a little curious as Lydia has been shockingly quiet on the subject of Jackson. "Is he okay? I mean, did everything work out?"
"The doctors looked like total idiots when he turned up alive. Everyone got over it." Lydia answered almost methodically before rolling her eyes at the next sentence. "And yes. Derek taught him the Werewolf 101. Like how not to randomly kill people during the full moon."
Allison raises an eyebrow as she stares at Lydia. "So, you've talked to him then?"
Lydia's nose twitches ever so slightly at the question. "... Not since he left for London."
"You mean since his dad moved him to London."
The strawberry blonde shook her head in anger. "Whatever. He left and seriously? An American Werewolf in London? Like that's not going to be a total disaster."
The Huntress smirks as a stray thought crosses her mind. "Just like an American Werewolf in Britain and then France? Been there, done that. Brought the Werewolf and Witch back home with me."
Lydia snorts at the reality of the situation.
"Sorry, we were talking about you. So, you're totally over him?" Allison apologises before trying to get back on track with the previous conversation.
Lydia wanted to groan, not wishing to return back to talking about Jackson so Lydia did what she always did when she felt threatened. She became sassy and sarcastic. "Would I be going on a date if I wasn't? Maybe even a double date if those girls don't hurry up and ask you out already."
"Lydia!" Allison retorts in shocked disbelief.
"Don't try to set me up with anyone else. I need to figure out who I want. Besides I want my best friend to like my apparent soulmates. Did you decide whether or not to take them up on their offer?" The ravenette informs the Banshee of her choice before questioning the other girl on the training offer made by the universal travellers.
"I haven't made up my mind yet… Are you going to keep my secret from the rest of the boys?" Lydia answers as she pulls up to a red stop light.
"I won't tell them Lyds. It's your choice to tell whomever you want about your powers. I'm not going to betray your trust Lydia." Allison replies as honestly as she could to convey that she meant everything that she said.
"Thanks. But what about you? Have you convinced them to train with you?" Lydia wonders as she turns her head to the vehicle beside her.
It took Lydia a short second but she quickly recognised the jeep beside them before looking up slightly to see Stiles and Scott's gobsmacked faces. "Oh crap."
A frown crosses Allison's features as she stopped herself from answering Lydia and instead looked out the window to see an oh-so familiar jeep outside. "Oh my God. Oh my God! I can't see him yet. Not now."
Lydia looks back to the traffic light noticing the still red light and groaning quietly as she listens to Allison nearly have a nervous breakdown in the front seat.
"Lydia! Go! Just go please!" Allison pleads with the strawberry blonde.
The Banshee motions her hand up towards the lights. "But the light –."
"Lyds!"
The strawberry blonde pursed her lips into a thin line as she disobeyed the road rules and pressed her foot against the accelerator, peeling out from her stopped state with a roar of her engine.
Allison tilted her head back against the headrest of the car seat as she let out a relieved sigh.
"You alright?" Lydia questions her friend with concern as she checks her rearview mirror noticing the now green light and the jeep following them.
At the sound of skidding brakes coming from behind them Allison groaned as she dropped her head forward, realising she couldn't just run from her problems. "Lydia, stop. We need to go back. I need to talk to him."
"About them too?" Lydia quietly murmured as she slammed her breaks, the loud sound of her wheels skidding along the wet road.
"They can find out about them tomorrow at school. It's up to them to decide how much they want to tell the Pack. Not me. Not you. Their choice. Okay? It's the least we can do for them… Unless they do something unforgivable and we need to tell them." Allison answers just as quietly, not wishing to use their names in case Scott was able to hear them over the noise.
"They stopped too." Lydia remarks as she keeps looking into the rearview mirror.
"Why would they stop?"
Lydia chuckles lightly as she replies with a hint of snark. "It's Stiles and Scott. Do you really want to try applying logic to those two?"
A small snort in the back of the Huntress' throat sounded before she gathered herself and shifted in the seat to look out the back of the car. "Maybe we should go back –"
The impact of what felt like another car hitting them jolted both Allison and Lydia as they screamed in fear, turning back to the front to see an animal's head through the windshield of the car. Both girls swiftly exited the car and moved to the back of the car away from the animal only to be joined by a concerned Scott and Stiles.
"Are you okay?" Scott's overly concerned voice sounded to Allison's right while his hands worriedly gripped at Allison's biceps, making sure she was okay. Meanwhile a couple of voices vibrated in Allison's mind with the same question. " Are you okay Allison? Do you need us? "
Lydia was the first to answer as her rushing adrenaline was wreaking havoc on her emotions. "It came out of nowhere!"
Allison looked over towards the rising waxing gibbous moon that was nearly filled in with a bright white light, indicating just how close it was to the upcoming full moon. " I'm fine, Hope, Daph. Just had a bit of a jump scare is all."
Scott was still very concerned as he watched Allison turn to face the nearly full moon with a pensive look on her face. "Are you hurt?"
"It ran right into us!" Lydia remarked as Stiles fussed over the strawberry blonde.
"Are you okay?" Scott stressed out each word in an uneasy whine as he stared at Allison awaiting for his ex to respond.
Allison's dark eyes turned to Scott and really took in his appearance. He looked good. Like he had spent a lot of time over the summer looking after himself first and foremost. Scott could've almost looked happy if he was staring at her with a hint of pain in his chocolate brown puppy eyes like she had kicked him while he was down.
The ravenette bobbed her head slightly as she softly spoke. "I'm okay."
Scott smiled after hearing his first love's confirmation that she was okay.
"Well I'm not okay!" Lydia blurted out, gaining everyone's attention. "I am totally freaking out! How the hell does it just run into us? I saw its eyes right before it hit us. It was like it… It was like it was crazy!"
Allison noticed her friend's stutter and tilted her head as she could've sworn that Lydia was facing her when the animal ran into the car. So she was wondering how Lydia knew it was crazy.
Scott grew concerned as he slowly made his way around the car to observe the animal that was stuck through the windshield of Lydia's car. The animal was a deer and if Scott's Werewolf senses were accurate, which he's fairly certain they were, the deer wasn't crazy.
"No. It was scared…" Scott laid a hand on the deer's bloody neck, feeling the lingering emotions hovering over the animal's spirit. "Actually… Terrified."
Allison walked around to the front of the car as she was followed by Lydia and Stiles as she looked at the poor deer that killed itself before turning back to the strawberry blonde with a curious look on her face. Lydia noticed the look and shook her head, silently asking her not to say anything until they were in private. Allison acquiesced to the nonverbal request made by the Banshee.
Lydia groans loudly as she pulls out her phone, immediately dialling some numbers in quick concession. First a towing company, then the police but Stiles mostly interrupted this conversation by taking the phone off her much to Lydia's hardened glare in his direction.
Once the strawberry blonde manages to reacquire her phone from the ecstatic ADHD boy. Lydia lastly calls her mother and listens as her mother berates her for nearly 20 minutes straight until Sheriff Stilinski shows up.
He explained the situation to the distraught mother, informing Natalie that this was an accident and that Lydia had been stopped for a considerable amount of time before the deer ran into a stopped car. There was nothing Lydia could've done to avoid the collision.
After receiving her phone back from the sheriff Lydia called Allison back over to the car to help her shift her bags over to Stiles' jeep since his father had offered his son's assistance to drive them home safely. Stiles nearly jumped at the opportunity to spend more time with Lydia while kicking Scott into the backseat with Allison, making for a very long and awkward trip home.
- - -
Hope and Daphne just returned from their early morning run and the Tribrid was in the middle of making breakfast for the two of them while they kept an invisible ear out on Allison. Apparently Chris was trying and failing to convince Allison to stay home for one more day or even a week but the Huntress rolled her eyes at her father as she explained that she promised to take Lydia to school today.
Hope chuckles at Chris' poor attempt to stop Allison from going to school, even Daphne had a smirk of amusement on her face as they sat at the table and ate their breakfast in relative silence.
Once it was time to leave Hope nearly had to drag Daphne to the car since the blonde thought that they were just going to apparate over to the school rather than drive there. But Hope was adamant for them to appear as normal as possible which means strolling into the parking lot in a shiny new car to show that they have to get around just like everyone else.
Daphne groans as she opens the car door to get out but is stopped short by the seat belt wrapped across her chest and hips before reaching back towards the centre of the console, pushing the button to release the safety latch of her awkward restraints otherwise known as a seatbelt.
"Don't even start Hope Andrea Mikaelson." Daphne warned her other half with a glare over the car when she finally got out of the car.
Hope clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she just decided to ignore what she witnessed a little earlier and just hummed out a "Mm-hm" noise in the back of her throat and held out her hand for the blonde to take.
The Ice Witch narrows her eyes on the Tribrid for a moment before releasing that she won this round against her wife and the corner of her mouth turns up in a grin as she accepts the proffered hand.
The girls did attract a lot of attention as they walked through the halls, heading to the office to collect their schedules. Daphne looked at the timetable and frowned slightly as she didn't quite understand the letters that corresponded to their subjects, except Art and something shortened down to PE.
"What the bloody hell is PE? Actually… What the bloody hell is everything on this timetable?" Daphne asked quietly as to not draw attention to herself.
"Most of the subjects are shortened down to the first 3 letters of the subject. For instance HIS is short for history, GEO is Geography, ENG –."
"English? Got it… Except why is there a subject called English? I thought that all kids would've been taught that before starting school?" Daphne interrupted the brunette genius with a small frown on her face.
Hope snorted as she shook her head in confusion before announcing her thoughts. "Daph. I don't think that anyone truly knows what is taught in English."
"But kids do learn how to speak some form of English before starting school but the subject is supposed to help increase one's understanding of how to properly apply these words to their full potential. Which in my opinion is basically near impossible considering all the BS that spurts out of everyone's mouths. For most school systems though, English is reading, writing and cramped wrists." Hope trailed off as English was never one of her favourite subjects at the Salvatore School even if she did get near perfect grades for it.
"Well… That sounds positively charming." Daphne responded with a beautiful amount of British sass.
This had some other students walking by doing a long double take on the new gorgeous blonde student as well as the brunette beside her who was smiling largely at the deadpan response. Hope was quick to notice these looks and her inner Wolf was growling at them.
To appease that side of her the Tribrid wrapped her arm around the blonde's waist before moving close to the other girl's face to give the appearance of her kissing the British girl's cheek.
Instead the brunette whispered in Daphne's ear. "Don't even say anything about my possessiveness. My Wolf is not in the mood for that bullshit today love. She's already showing restraint by holding back her Queen status from the local Werewolves. So please for my sake and as well as Allison's, please do not test my patience."
Hope nipped at Daphne's ear in warning before moving her head away from beside the blonde's beautiful face which looked like she was trying to contain a loud moan from the small nip Hope gave her.
"You are evil." Daphne mentioned quietly as she struggled to recall how to breathe.
The Mikaelson girl had her father's smirk plastered across her face as she ushered Daphne along to their first classroom of Senior year with her arm securely around the blonde. "I know. But you love it."
Daphne scoffed lightheartedly and shook her head with a smile on her face happily ignoring all the lingering gazes on both herself and Hope.

Allison was walking side by side with the newly minted Banshee who looked either way too pleased with herself and actively looking for something interesting to catch her eye. The ravenette had noticed a fair amount of boys looking down in a corridor and talking to their friends with exaggerated expressions causing her to frown slightly.
Lydia had also picked up on the congregation of boys looking longingly down the other side of the hallway and felt offended for a few seconds before chuckling with a teasing shoulder bump to her friend.
"20 bucks says that they are ogling our two newest and hot residents to Beacon Hills." Lydia remarked with a grin as Allison's head snapped to face the strawberry blonde.
The Huntress was trying desperately not to feel angry or possessive over Hope and Daphne but she was finding it difficult as the bloody Tribrid apparently heard Lydia's comment through all the insanity and teenage hormones between them and her.
"Good thing I don't make stupid bets like that. Besides, Hope heard you." Allison relayed to the shocked Banshee.
"God! Those supernatural senses are way too powerful. That cheating Hope. Did she hear that?" Lydia bit back slightly annoyed at being overheard before directing her last query directly in the ravenette's direction.
Allison just nodded as she watched Lydia groan while opening up her locker to put her purse inside and pull out the necessary books for the day. Allison took the opportunity to lean against the lockers beside Lydia as the strawberry blonde shook her head. Ignoring the fact that she was probably being eavesdropped on while she remained in close quarters to her best friend. May as well make the most of it and push some buttons.
"Freshmen. Tons and tons of fresh men." Lydia started a suggestive conversation with the Huntress who looked stunned at the observation.
The ravenette wasn't sure how to respond just yet so she turned to face the school's entry, only to be greeted by the boys that Lydia had just mentioned. "You mean fresh boys. Lydia, they're fourteen."
Lydia shrugged but was grateful that her friend took the bait. "Meh. Some are more mature than others."
Allison's dark eyes narrowed in on Lydia's frame as she wondered why the strawberry blonde wanted to discuss this right now. "You know, it's okay to be single. Focus on yourself for a little while. Work on being a better person, especially now."
Lydia glanced at Allison with a raised eyebrow as she tilted her head in thought. "Allison, I love you. So if you need to do that thing where we talk about me and pretend like we're not actually talking about you… It's totally fine. But I don't want a boyfriend. I want a distraction."
The Banshee smirked largely in Allison's direction watching as the dark haired girl rolled her russet brown eyes in exasperation. This made Lydia ecstatic as she hoped that the brunette Tribrid was listening in and getting increasingly jealous.
However, two sets of loud footsteps entered the entryway gaining the attention of Teen Wolf girls. Both girls watched as the boys approached them.
"Brothers?" Allison questioned aloud with an open invitation to correct her.
Lydia was indeed willing and able as she replied with a dreamy smirk. "Twins."
The Huntress was faster to shake the cobwebs out of her mind as she recalled that the bell for first period had sounded a couple of minutes ago only giving them a short window of time to get to the classroom and find a seat. Allison practically had to peel Lydia away from staring longingly at the twins' backsides.
By the time Allison and Lydia entered the classroom there were only two seats remaining. One in front of Scott and beside Daphne or in between Hope and Stiles. Allison blinked in surprise as she expected the couple to sit next to one another.
Although the expressions on both of the girls' faces, they didn't look very pleased to be separated, however, they did seem to perk up once they realised who would be sitting beside them. Lydia was the first to move from the doorway and took the spot between Hope and Stiles.
The strawberry blonde was quick to write out a scribble of a note and passed it to the Tribrid beside her.
Hope opened it and rolled her eyes as she answered aloud. "Apparently the teacher here wanted to separate pairs so they would be forced to work with new students and hopefully gain the attention of her students."
There was a mass amount of grumbles sounding throughout the room and on Allison's second, more observation of her surroundings. The Huntress realised that all the normal pairs were split up including Scott and Stiles.
Stiles was even a little grouchy as he made a frustrated comment from his spot beside Lydia watching as his crush passed a note to the new girl rather than just ask him. "It's totally unfair. She's completely new and she's already split us up."
Scott was slightly distracted as Allison walked up to the seat in front of him since he was trying to glance around Stiles and now Lydia, probably wondering why his Werewolf senses were on alert around her.
"Is anyone –?" Allison started awkwardly as she looked down at the seat before lifting her eyes to Scott's surprised expression as his eyes flitted across the room before realising this was the last seat available in the room.
"No… No, no, it's all you. All yours. Uh, it's totally vacant." Scott not so smoothly replied but it still brought a smile to Allison's face.
Allison pulls out the chair and nearly freezes in place at the icy stare glazing back and forth between her and Scott. The Huntress felt so awkward as she sat beside the Ice Witch that she didn't even want to chance a glance towards the Tribrid.
Hope's eye was visibly twitching at the interaction between the former lovers that Lydia decided to kick the Tribrid under the table. Hope turns to the strawberry blonde slowly and blinks owlishly as she looks between herself and the other girl's leg with a hint of fiery annoyance in those shockingly sea-blue eyes.
Lydia gulps in slight fear as she busies herself by organising her desk for the lesson. The Banshee has never felt such relief as all the phones in the classroom buzzed to life and everyone moved to collect their phones, unlocking them to read the message they all received.
Stiles was the first to read the message aloud. "'The offing was barred by the black bank of clouds and a tranquil waterway, leading to the uttermost ends of the earth.'"
The new English teacher, Jennifer Blake walks into the room as she continues to read the excerpt paragraph from the book they will be reading during this class. "'Flowed somber from an overcast sky, seemed to lead into the heart of the immense darkness.' This is the last line to the first book we are going to read. It is also the last text you receive in this class. Phones off, everyone."
Hope and Daphne's eyes narrowed in on the new teacher as they both knew how much pain she would cause to Beacon Hills and the Pack. Though to ensure that this world will gain the True Alpha it needs, Hope made the decision to leave the woman alone. However, if she goes after one of hers the Darach will die a gruesome death worthy of a Mikaelson's anger.
Until then, the glaring will continue especially considering the teacher's following actions as she brought attention to both Hope and Daphne. "We also have two new students starting today. Hope Mikaelson and Daphne Greengrass. Would you like to say some things about yourself?"
The Emrys couple were not impressed in the slightest as Lydia could nearly feel the heat coming off the Tribrid as she glared at the other woman.
Lydia was too busy watching as Hope was about to open her mouth, possibly to unleash a very sarcastic or inappropriate remark that she didn't notice that Daphne was the one to reply.
The British cadence of the blonde's words were both endearing and sharp as she heard the Heiress' silver tongue at work. "Excuse me Miss. But correct me if I'm wrong. Aren't you also new to the school? Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself?"
The Darach in hiding was shocked as someone, a student no less called her out and she froze, unsure with how to handle the situation just yet but apparently the blonde girl wasn't finished. "Currently, you've proven to be inflexible with allowing friends to sit by one another, you've also shown that you don't like distractions as dictated by having everyone turn off their phones and lastly you've also spoiled a book by reading from the last page."
"With this in mind, why would I or my fiance answer that question or any others?" Daphne announced with such ease that even Hope was impressed and smirking by the end.
5 people in the classroom had somewhat similar reactions or at least a mixture of the following: freezing in place, glance between the two girls with amazing speed as they wondered if it was true or their eyes widened so far that they could almost pop out of their heads. These were Allison and Lydia who were gobsmacked that Daphne would announce that so casually without a hint of concern. The others were Scott, Stiles and Miss Blake.
The other students in the classroom were chatting loudly towards the pair with lewd comments, wolf whistles or just with their jaws on the floor.
Thankfully for the teacher she didn't have to respond to Miss Greengrass' observation of herself as she moved to the closed door at the sound of the knock. She accepted the note from the principal's office.
"Mr McCall?" Miss Blake called out making the Werewolf boy jump as he was in the middle of passing a note to Allison.
"I'm sure it's an emergency if your mother needs you to leave school. But I'm going to give you a warning, in the nicest possible way. I am well aware of your attendance record. I don't want you to slip back into old habits." The teacher announces breaking through all the comments as the students jump at the newest gossip.
"I won't. It's gonna be different this year." Scott assures her.
"Resolutions are only good if you stick with them, Scott." Miss Blake replies with distrust in her tone.
At this, Lydia begins to notice the immediate dislike this new teacher has for Scott even though this is literally the first lesson. Miss Blake shouldn't have any opinions on her students… Actually it's a little creepy that she knows Scott's attendance record and also sent a mass text to all students in her class.
Lydia frowned as she was fairly certain that using the school's records to access everyone's phone number was illegal. Also who in their right mind would do this? Miss Blake could theoretically give out any students' number to anyone and no one would know. On the flip side, any student could give out their teacher's number or in Danny's case, hack a teacher's phone.
Lydia has to think back to when the phones went off to recall if Hope or Daphne's phones went off but she can't remember if they did or not. Neither girl checked their phones as Allison showed Daphne the message on her phone and Hope was sitting beside her, looking bored out of her mind.
"I will. I promise it won't be ephemeral." Scott promises as he stands, lifting his backpack onto his shoulder before giving one last glance towards Hope in curiosity.
The teacher took the opportunity to take control of the class, ignoring the outburst from the blonde girl as she knew if she argued with this student. Miss Blake had a feeling that Miss Greengrass would happily talk circles around her if she was presented the chance and Jennifer wasn't wishing to draw attention to herself so quickly on the first day.
The class had settled down enough for them to take notes as Miss Blake wrote them on the board but some were talking in hushed whispers to their table partners.
"You don't like her very much do you?" Lydia questions thoughtfully as her pen scurries along the page.
Hope glances over her shoulder to the strawberry blonde and stares at her for a second or two before replying so stoically that even Stiles was impressed. "What ever gave you that idea?"
Lydia scoffs before shaking her head, knowing that the Tribrid was reasonably angry with the teacher for trying to belittle them in front of the class. If Daphne didn't interject first, which is why the Banshee believed that she did on purpose, was to make sure that Hope wouldn't get a detention within the first 2 minutes of the school year.
"Hey Lydia. What is that? Is that from the accident?" The lithe dark haired boy from Lydia's other side questioned as he pointed towards her ankle in concern.
Lydia froze slightly at the small frown of worry that slowly etched its way onto Hope's face before turning to Stiles and answering albeit a little awkwardly. "Noooo… Prada bit me."
Stiles blinked. "Your dog?"
Lydia internally smirked at the familiar opening that Stiles always seems to let her have to make fun of him. "No, my designer handbag."
This seemed to have worked as the Tribrid beside her let out a tiny snort at her deadpan delivery and Stiles' concern was quickly replaced with exasperation, realising he walked right into that response.
The strawberry blonde allowed her small victory before replying honestly if not a little sarcastically to his original question, since she wouldn't Lydia Martin if she didn't bite off Stiles' head for no apparent reason. "Yes, my dog."
A truly thoughtful expression was plastered on Stiles' face that both girls took notice of as the boy then asked. "Has it ever bitten you before?"
Lydia was always the first in their friend group to realise when Stiles was onto something and lifted her head from her notebook. Lydia lightly shakes her head in answer while making a noise of disagreement to his question.
Stiles was quick to pounce on this answer as he knew that Lydia was a genius and possibly the best person to bounce ideas off of if given the chance. "Okay. What if it's like the same thing as the deer? Ya know, like, how animals start acting weird right before an earthquake or something?"
The strawberry blonde frowned in thought as she listened to Stiles but replied uneasily as she wasn't yet used to the supernatural world and she tried hard to resist the urge to turn around and ask Hope. "Meaning what? That there's going to be an earthquake?"
"Or something." Stiles stressed out much to Lydia's disbelief before taking a breath and starting a little less emotional as he knows Lydia responds to logic rather than gut feelings. "I just– maybe it means something's coming. Something bad."
"It was a deer and a dog." Lydia dismisses hopefully.
"What's that thing you say about three's, Once, twice —." Before Lydia even has a chance to finish, a loud crash sounds against the window, showing a blood spatter, the size of someone's fist, against the glass.
Lydia looked horrified at the sight of the blood and glanced at the girl beside her. Hope's eyes were narrowed in the direction of the window but past the blood smear. The strawberry blonde barely noticed that everyone was now looking at the bloodstain because she was so focused on finding what was holding the Tribrid's attention.
Then she heard them. Caws on the wingbeats of hundreds of crows heading towards the classroom.
Lydia sucked in a small breath as she flinched in her seat looking out the window. Other students were frozen in shock as they were also looking out the window noticing the crows approaching.
Miss Blake was standing right in front of one of the windows before turning back to the class with what she could assume was a scared but reassuring expression. At least it may have been if a crow didn't pick that exact moment to fly into the glass like its predecessor, making another blood mark on the window right in front of Miss Blake's face.
One, two, three, four bangs against the windows sounded until a section of the windows shattered, then another and another.
"Get down! Everyone, get down! Get down!" The teacher shouted over all of the loud cawing and screams within the classroom as she moved to shield a couple of kids.
A flash of light was the last thing she saw outside as Hope and Stiles used their bodies to protect her from the onslaught of crows flying through the broken windows and into the classroom.
Daphne was also quick into action as she pulled Allison down towards the ground and protected her as she cast protective wards around herself and Allison before spreading them out over the next 2 rows of seats. Protecting more students but not wishing to draw attention to herself as she didn't know if this Darach could sense magic or supernatural beings and the Ice Queen didn't want to give away her hand just yet.
Allison was initially stunned by the crows breaking through the windows but she wasn't remotely scared. Hope and Daphne's confidence in their ability to protect themselves and others in the room were far outweighing any panic that she may have felt.
Allison peeked out from under Daphne's figure to look out the window and her eyes widened. Hope's Thunderbird was right outside. A bird of pure light in a sea of never ending darkness.
Alexandria let out a whistle that was basically drowned out by all the cawing made by the crows and the cries of pain and fear from the students. Unless you knew the Thunderbird was right outside no one would even know she was there as the golden bird summoned a large bolt of lightning from her feathers.
The beautiful golden bird masterfully and unsuspiciously took out more than half of the crows that were still outside of the classroom without anyone inside noticing apart from her, Daphne and she could only assume Hope.
Hope had discussed an idea previously with Daphne before the school term started that she would only use her Werewolf abilities and hide her other sides, at least until Miss Blake was gone.
The Tribrid wasn't sure what the other woman could sense when it came to Hope, Daphne and quite possibly Allison as well due to their bond. So until Jennifer was gone, Hope wanted to seem as least threatening as possible to remain incognito under her the other woman's magical senses.
Unfortunately for the Darach, she would have to deal with Hope's Werewolf side and pray to whatever spirits she's channelling that she doesn't unleash the Wolf Queen.
The crows inside the classroom were flying around erratically without a true sense of direction or goal, just untapped fear. They were frightened severely by something they could sense that something had recently entered the small town of Beacon Hills.
Hope knew that Stiles and Lydia were looking at her but she didn't care. Scott had probably already told Stiles that there was something different about her, so she may as well let her inner animal out.
The Tribrid allowed her eyes to glow a brilliant bright amber as she let out a deep growl in the back of her throat. Daphne, Lydia and Miss Blake were the only ones that actually felt the power in that growl but the teacher was having some trouble locating whichever student made that sound.
Allison and Stiles were the only two humans that heard the sound, the first due to the bond and the other due to his proximity to the Werewolf girl.
The dangerous growl had all the birds flap higher away from the students as the dark cover of crows understood a Wolf and a powerful one at that, had placed these kids under their protection. Unfortunately for the crows they didn't know what to do now that they were stuck in an enclosed space with a pissed off Werewolf.
Some of the crows flew into walls, doors, tables, windows and even the ceiling at fast speeds. The impact into these surfaces was damaging enough that they died. For the other birds in the room, their little hearts couldn't take the unending fear and their hearts gave out. Some fell randomly out of the air while others that were on desks, students or the floor just suddenly dropped dead.
Hope's eye colour quickly receded back to their natural sea-blue as she leaned back from Lydia and took a relieved sigh as she forced herself to calm down. Hope felt a hint of guilt about the death of so many birds but she shook it off. This act of violence wasn't her fault.
The whole experience with the crows only lasted for maybe 30 seconds, if lucky, before Miss Blake made it to her feet and other students also cautiously stood up.
