Chapter 10 - The Deal with the Devil"

Here's Chapter 10, where the stakes are higher, and Yuna makes a pivotal decision to reclaim her future. This chapter will dive into her resilience and resourcefulness as she tries to navigate the dangerous game being played by everyone

The morning after the confrontation with Ji Hye, Yuna woke up with a sense of resolve. The sleepless night had only made her more determined. The weight of betrayal by those she thought she could trust pressed down on her, but it also lit a fire inside her. She couldn't let Seok Jin or her stepmother win. She would fight back—no matter the cost.

The legal battle for her father's company was heating up, and her enemies were growing bolder. Seok Jin had made it clear that he would stop at nothing to claim what he believed was rightfully his, and Ji Hye was no longer a simple obstacle. She had become a powerful ally to Seok Jin, willing to throw her own stepdaughter under the bus to secure her future.

But Yuna wasn't going down without a fight.

The Visit to Seok Jin:

Yuna knew the only way to win was to turn the tables on Seok Jin. She had no choice but to go to him, face him head-on, and make him an offer he couldn't refuse. The more she thought about it, the more certain she became that this would be the moment of reckoning. The moment everything would change.

She arrived at his sleek office, walking with purpose. Her heels clicked on the marble floor as she entered the expansive lobby, and the receptionist immediately ushered her into Seok Jin's office without hesitation. There was no turning back now.

As she walked into his office, Yuna couldn't help but notice how intimidating the space was. Glass walls, sharp edges, and an overwhelming sense of control emanated from every corner. Seok Jin stood by the window, his back to her, looking out over the city.

"Yuna," he said, his voice cold as he turned to face her. "I didn't expect to see you so soon."

Yuna met his gaze with unwavering confidence. "I'm not here to beg, Seok Jin. I'm here to make a deal."

He raised an eyebrow. "A deal? With me?" He chuckled softly, crossing his arms. "What could you possibly have to offer me that I would want?"

Yuna stepped closer, her voice calm but commanding. "You want the company. I know that. But you don't know how to run it like my father did. You can't even imagine what it takes to keep this empire afloat."

Seok Jin's eyes narrowed. "And what makes you think you can do it? You're just a pawn in a game you can't win."

Yuna's jaw tightened. She refused to let him see her fear. "I know the game better than you think. And I can teach you how to play it, if you're willing to listen."

Seok Jin was silent for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then, with a smile that didn't reach his eyes, he stepped closer to her. "What do you want in return for this… 'lesson'?"

Yuna's eyes glinted with determination. "You back off. You and your little alliances. Let me take control of the company. In return, I'll share everything my father left behind—every secret, every connection. You'll have what you want. The power, the influence—everything. But you have to promise to stay out of my way."

Seok Jin didn't say anything for a long while, as though weighing his options. Finally, he spoke, his voice low and dangerous. "You think I'll accept this? You think you can outsmart me?"

Yuna's eyes never wavered. "You have no choice."

Seok Jin smirked, amused. "You're either brave or stupid, Yuna. I'll give you credit for both. But remember this, if you betray me, I won't hesitate to destroy you. And don't think I won't make your life a living hell in the process."

Yuna stepped closer to him, her gaze unflinching. "You'll have to catch me first."

Seok Jin's smile faded, but he gave a short, sharp nod. "Consider the deal made. But understand one thing—you're in my world now. And once you enter, there's no way out."

Yuna turned and walked towards the door, her heart pounding. She had made a deal with the devil, but it was the only way to survive. If she could make it work, she'd be one step closer to reclaiming her father's legacy and keeping her enemies at bay.

The Aftermath:

As Yuna left the building, her mind raced. The deal with Seok Jin had been dangerous, but it was her only option. She couldn't let him take everything from her. She had to play his game, outsmart him, and win. She wasn't going to lose the company—not like this, not to someone like him.

But Yuna knew there were other forces at play—forces she couldn't fully understand yet. Ji Hye's growing influence, the upcoming board meeting, the will that had been leaked—all of it was part of a larger puzzle, one that Yuna had to solve quickly before it consumed her.

The Conversation with Minji:

Later that evening, Yuna met with Minji to discuss the next steps. The loyal secretary had been working tirelessly to keep things under control, but even she could sense that something was off.

"You're sure this is the right move?" Minji asked, concern evident in her eyes as she handed Yuna a glass of wine.

Yuna took a sip, her eyes focused on the glass as she contemplated. "I had no choice, Minji. Seok Jin is dangerous, but if I want to keep the company, I need to stay one step ahead. This deal is my only shot."

Minji nodded slowly, her face serious. "Just remember, Yuna, we're all in this together. If you ever need help, you can count on me."

Yuna smiled, her gratitude evident. "I know. And I won't forget it."

The Countdown:

As the days passed, Yuna grew more and more determined. The pieces were falling into place, but the clock was ticking. The board meeting loomed on the horizon, and her stepmother and Seok Jin were working together behind the scenes to make sure she lost everything.

But Yuna wasn't going down without a fight. She had made her move, and now it was time to see if the gamble would pay off—or if she had made a deal that would cost her everything.
