Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Letter from Kumogakure

"It's so exhausting!"

Samui rolled her neck, stretching slightly before turning around to look at the two shinobi lagging behind her. "Hey, can you guys walk a little faster?"

Karui huffed in annoyance. "It's all because of Omoi! He keeps dragging his feet and mumbling nonsense!"

Frustrated, Karui stomped over, grabbed Omoi by the ear, and pulled him forward. "Hey! Didn't you hear what Samui said? Konoha is right up ahead! What the hell have you been muttering about this entire time?"

Omoi swatted Karui's hand away and sighed. "I was just thinking about Lord Raikage's tearful expression when we left the village. What if we return only to find that the entire village has turned into a giant lake, like Kirigakure?"

Karui stared at him as if he had lost his mind. "Are you stupid? Do you have any idea how many tears that would take? That's ridiculous!"

Omoi remained unconvinced. "But this is Lord Raikage we're talking about! With his strength, crying a whole lake wouldn't even be a challenge! What if it turns into an ocean and floods the entire village? I can't even swim! What am I supposed to do then?"

His face twisted into exaggerated distress.

Karui groaned in exasperation. "Ugh! You're exhausting. Just listening to you is making me tired!"

Omoi crossed his arms and muttered, "Well, Samui is always complaining that her shoulders hurt because of how heavy her chest is. I get that, but Karui... you don't have that problem, so why are you acting like you're carrying some huge burden?"

As he spoke, he gestured with his hands to emphasize his point.

Before he could finish, Karui's eyes burned with fury, and she delivered a brutal side kick to his stomach.

"Bakayaro! You idiot! What do you know?! My figure is called natural beauty!"

Omoi tumbled several meters away, clutching his stomach and groaning in pain. "Ahhh… it hurts so much!"

Samui sighed and approached them, rubbing her temples. "Enough, you two. Stop wasting time. Konoha is right ahead, so let's keep moving."

Karui scowled but turned away, still fuming. However, she stole a quick glance at Samui's figure, feeling a pang of jealousy before folding her arms in frustration.

Omoi, still sprawled on the ground, mumbled, "I was just being honest, and this is what I get…"

Noticing Karui's death glare, he wisely decided to shut his mouth.

Konoha – Hokage's Office

Samui stood before Tsunade, her expression calm and composed. She reached into her uniform and retrieved a sealed scroll, holding it out.

"This is a letter from Lord Raikage, addressed to you, Lady Hokage."

Shizune stepped forward, accepting the document and handing it to Tsunade, who unrolled it and quickly scanned through its contents. A few minutes later, she placed the letter down, closed her eyes, and rubbed her temples with a deep frown.

Samui maintained her steady tone. "Lady Hokage, Lord Raikage wishes for a prompt response. Once you've decided, we will return to Kumogakure to deliver your reply."

Tsunade thought for a moment before speaking. "I understand Lord Raikage's concerns. I will personally attend. Additionally, Konoha will send out another pursuit team. I ask that Kumogakure grant us some time."

Samui nodded. "Very well. I will relay your decision to Lord Raikage."

She turned to leave, but Tsunade's voice stopped her.

"Wait a moment."

Samui turned back. "Is there something else, Lady Hokage?"

Tsunade gave a small smile. "You've traveled a long way. As Konoha's Hokage, I should at least offer you hospitality. Why not stay for a meal and rest for the night before returning?"

Karui's expression hardened. "Konoha's Uchiha Sasuke captured our master. His life is still uncertain. How can we sit down for a meal under these circumstances?"

Omoi, usually the one making sarcastic remarks, actually nodded in agreement this time.

At that moment, a wave of emotion overcame him, and he imagined his master, Killer Bee, trapped in the clutches of the Akatsuki, suffering unimaginable torture. Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Uuuhhh… This is terrible… Our master is being burned alive by those damn black flames…"

Karui smacked him hard. "Would you quit crying already?! Stop cursing our master to death, damn it!"

Samui looked Tsunade directly in the eyes. "Lady Hokage, you can see how deeply this matter affects not just us but all of Kumogakure. Lord Raikage, in particular, is devastated—because Lord Killer Bee is not just his comrade, but his younger brother."

She bowed slightly in respect. "Forgive us, Lady Hokage, but we must decline your offer. We will return to Kumogakure immediately."

Without another word, Samui turned and left the office, with Karui and Omoi following behind.

Tsunade watched them leave and let out a heavy sigh.

Shizune frowned. "It's about Sasuke, isn't it?"

Tsunade stood up, stretching her shoulders. "Yes. Just when we were still dealing with the whole Naruto situation, Sasuke stirs up another mess."

She turned to Shizune. "Find Kakashi. Tell him there's a meeting tonight at my office."

Shizune nodded. "Understood. But Lady Tsunade, where are you going?"

Tsunade cracked her knuckles and exhaled. "I need to have a chat with that damn ghost."

Shizune blinked in confusion before realization dawned on her. She chuckled softly.
