Chapter 39 - Operation Beast Mode

Xavier sat at his desk, fingers steepled, eyes narrowed as he stared at the reports in front of him. Something wasn't right. His gut told him that Kara Zor-El's presence was an anomaly—an unpredictable force that was warping the very foundation of the X-Men. But when he tried to analyze the data, everything pointed to something else. Something… blue.

Beast.

He frowned, rubbing his temples. Had he miscalculated? His psychic senses told him that something was influencing the minds of those around him. Women were drawn to Kara, but was it Kara's influence, or was it something more insidious lurking beneath the surface? A force manipulating them all from the shadows?

A force… like Hank McCoy.

Xavier's fingers twitched. He hadn't considered it before, but now? Now, the pieces were aligning. The sudden shift in the female X-Men's behavior. The subtle but undeniable changes in their emotions. The way Kara's presence was spreading—but could it be that Beast was amplifying it? That he was unknowingly working as a conduit for something far more dangerous?

He clenched his jaw.

If that was true… Hank had to be stopped.

Across the mansion, Jean smirked as she felt the exact moment Xavier's paranoia shifted.

"Oh, Professor. You're making this too easy."

She casually twirled a strand of red hair between her fingers, sitting cross-legged on her bed, already enjoying the downward spiral she had put into motion. This was the best kind of manipulation—the kind where the target believed it was their own idea.

She stretched lazily, sending another tiny psychic pulse into Xavier's subconscious, reinforcing the thought.

Operation Beast Mode was in full effect.

Meanwhile, Kara sat on the couch, stretching, completely unaware of the absolute chaos unfolding around her.

"Alright, girls, I've decided," she announced, arms behind her head, flashing that easy-going Kryptonian grin. "Let's all go out on a group date."

Storm, sitting on the armrest, raised an eyebrow. "All of us?"

Kara nodded. "Yup. No more one-on-one hijacking. We're doing this as a team."

Gwen scoffed. "What, so now we're in a harem team-building exercise?"

Natasha leaned against the counter, sipping her coffee. "I think what she's saying is that if we don't figure out how to share, she's gonna force us to."

Wanda, twirling a spoon in her tea, smirked. "I like the idea. Besides, we could use a break from all the passive-aggressive nonsense."

Jean, ever the composed one, nodded in approval. "Fine by me."

Rogue gave a small shrug, feigning innocence. "Sounds fun."

Kara grinned. "Perfect. Ice cream first, then I found a place where we can legally break stuff."

Storm blinked. "Wait… legally?"

Kara nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! It's a Destruction Bar. You pay, and they let you smash plates, bottles, furniture—whatever you want! I've never been able to legally break things before. This is gonna be awesome!"

The room fell silent.

Natasha sighed. "Kara."

Kara beamed. "Yeah?"

Storm rubbed her temples. "You destroy things all the time."

Wanda raised an eyebrow. "Like, constantly."

Gwen crossed her arms. "We watched you punch a building in half last week."

Rogue smirked. "You ripped a car door off yesterday just because the handle was stuck."

Kara blinked. "Oh." She thought for a moment, then shrugged. "Yeah, but this time it's legal."

Natasha groaned.

Storm chuckled. "Alright, fine. Let's go smash stuff."

Later, inside "The Smash Zone," Kara gleefully shattered a plate against the concrete wall, her eyes lighting up with pure joy. The others stood back, watching as she decimated every breakable object within arm's reach.

"THIS IS AMAZING!" Kara laughed, throwing a glass bottle into a metal target and watching it explode into shards.

Natasha, leaning against a pile of wrecked furniture, sighed. "You're not even drunk, and you're way too into this."

Kara, holding a crowbar, looked back at her, grinning ear to ear. "It's legal, Nat. Legal."

Wanda, taking a slow sip from her beer, smirked. "I don't think I've ever seen her happier."

Storm, arms crossed, nodded approvingly. "It's almost inspiring."

Gwen groaned, watching Kara grab an entire wooden chair and smash it into pieces. "I swear, we're enabling her."

Jean, standing slightly apart from the group, just watched, amused. Her plans were moving smoothly. Xavier was spiraling. The harem war was peaking. And Kara? Kara was completely oblivious.

It was perfect.

Meanwhile, Xavier sat in his office, staring at Cyclops, voice deadly serious.

"Hank is the problem," Xavier said firmly.

Cyclops hesitated. "Are you sure?"

Xavier nodded gravely. "The way the women of this mansion have been behaving? Their emotions? Their loyalty shifting? It's happening too fast. Kara's presence is a factor, but I believe Hank is the conduit. He's amplifying whatever force is affecting them."

Cyclops furrowed his brows. "So what do we do?"

Xavier leaned forward. "We must weaken his hold. We need to strip him of his power."

Cyclops straightened. "Wait. Are you saying—?"

Xavier nodded.

Cyclops exhaled. "Professor… you want me to shave Beast."

Xavier's expression darkened. "It is the only way."

Cyclops swallowed. He wasn't sure if this made sense, but Xavier had never led them astray before.

"Alright," he said. "I'll handle it."

Jean, relaxing in her bed later that night, stretched her arms with a contented sigh. The plan was moving flawlessly.

Xavier had taken the bait. Cyclops was preparing to strip Hank of his fur. The mansion was one step away from complete anarchy.

She grinned to herself, whispering softly, just for her own amusement.

"Bum, bum, bum."

The Phoenix hummed in approval.

Beast woke up the next morning feeling… strange.

Something was off.

He reached up, rubbing his face, only to feel smooth skin.

His eyes snapped open.

He touched his head. His bald, smooth, hairless head.

Panic set in.

Cyclops stood in the doorway, completely deadpan.

"Professor said it had to be done."

Beast screamed.

Down the hall, Jean sat at the breakfast table, sipping her coffee as she watched the chaos unfold.

Beast stormed past, still in shock.

Jean casually greeted him.

"Hey, baldy."

Silence.

Beast slowly turned, horror dawning on him.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?!"

Jean smirked.

Across the table, Wanda raised an eyebrow, looking at Xavier, then at Beast. "So now we have two bald guys?"

Jean nearly choked on her coffee.

Kara, oblivious, just grinned. "Welcome to the club, Hank!"

Jean leaned back, enjoying the fruits of her labor.

Operation Beast Mode was a complete success.
