A young man slowly walked into the Emperor's sleeping chamber. His face was pale and he had very heavy dark circles around his eyes.
His shoulder length curly golden hair was glistening in the morning sunlight. He was wearing the white Priest robe,the cuffs and neckline were embroidered with gold threads.
His face value and the robe he wore made him look like an angel descending to the earth in the sunlight.
But his heavy dark circles and his lifeless eyes broke this special filter bestowed by heaven.
"You look like you're sucked dry, Evan.Your footsteps are vain..."
The man standing in the balcony started the conversation without turning around,only showing his back.
"Please, don't use such a dirty joke on me, your majesty.. How can the culprit responsible for my dark circles teased the victim?"
He gave a standard bow to the emperor.
"Feel sorry,my bad. "
"No need to feel sorry. Just don't assign more tasks for me. I want a holiday. "
"You can have it now. The cleanup is nearly done. I'll let you rest for a few months. You are pulled into the water this time by the concubine Daphne. I believe we have pulled hers and her bastard son's power out completely now."

Griffin is the eldest prince of the empire while the second prince Evan is the youngest, born from the same mother.
In the Bright Sun Empire,only the son/daughter born by the queen is legitimated prince/princess. The son born from the concubine Daphne was not counted as a legitimated prince even though he was the second child of the deceased emperor.
"How do you plan to deal with concubine Daphne,Royal brother?"
"Send her to meet the Royal father. She dared to plant spies in my mansion. "
Griffin replied calmly without showing much anger. The concubine planted spies in his prince mansion before he sat on the throne.
" Is it her doing....about you not having heir? None of your concubines got pregnant even now.."
"Hah...she only has these petty lowly tricks. Send women to my bed, try to kill me with honey traps.....She thought I'm as stupid as my royal father... The heir thing is my doing not her. "

Her son's talent is not high because she was from an enemy royal family with the conflict magic attribute from light attribute.

Evan bowed to his brother before leaving.
It took three years for them to stabilise the Empire after Griffin got the throne. Humans are short lived but the royal family with light attribute magic and mages are not.
If the Emperor was not killed by the hand of Concubine Daphne, the throne won't change hands in a few centuries. The Emperor was only 106 years old when he died. With his B class physique and 7th rings light mage's power, it's not impossible to live up to 500 years.
It can be said that he died young. If it wasn't for Concubine Daphne jumping around anxiously, Griffin won't even want the throne that was like a shackle for him.
